First time growing here in rhode island and was slightly worried after starting my seeds when researching. Im growing apples n afghani by twenty20 and saw that its harvest date is early to mid oct. Im worried about if #1 the buds will be too dense, #2 if the harvest date is too late. Its currently planted outside and in early veg.

The only reason i always use containers is so i can protect them from major cold rain storms by moving them under a patio cover. And because i'm not a young'in anymore and don't want to deal with big tree plants that i can't protect. Mold and bugs are what outdoor growers deal with by growing outdoors. In the future just reasearch more shorter bloom strains or find a way to cover them. I grow heavy indica leaning hybrids that tend to grow under 6ft. tall not 12ft trees.

If theres any rhode island growers, when do you guys normally harvest?
