Ya I use it up until week four or five. Silica kicks ass.

Two weeks of veg, in week one of flower with silica rocking...

Stemlighter

The new new is gonna be the H&G product that doubles cell walls at the end of summer. It's the craziest stuff I have ever seen. Makes silica look like... ya' know...

I mix it into soil mix so they get it all the way through to chop.
When adding it with nutes I don't see any reason after week 5 really.
Stems have filled to where they will by that point, right?

what reason do you stop using silica?
is it just to taper ppms before the flush?

I'm curious too.

When you stop silica, do you just switch to PH-up instead?

In coco, should I have enough silica in my medium, after weeks/months of feeding w/it, that no PH up would really be needed, since my coco would be basically buffered?

I ran through a couple quarts of silica I really didn't notice anything.

I quit buying it.

I've used diatomaceous earth for years, first for gnats, now for the thickness I see in my stalks and branches, it's mostly silica, and provides and organic 1,2 punch as a pest control and a nutrient. I got a friend that uses it in his DWC system with the same 1,2 results as well.

The reason not to use it all the way through is to avoid the silca/mineral taste. When I first started I used it all the way until I flushed, but never tasted it. LOL. I stop at week 5 or 6 now-a-days.

why im sure it benefits your plants plus it cost cheaper or the same as ph up

Well hold on now if it raises pH there might be some actual value here - especially since you get that smallish dose of potash with it . . .

All that rep on your avatar there Venom surely you can ballpark this - if you mixed a batch of nutes @ 1000ppm that mixed up to a ph of 4 (I'm thinking of Botanicare base nutes here) - and added 5ml/gallon of silica - where would the pH be?

prolly way to high - lol

with my pure blend pro mix and some fulvic and aminos I add 1 ml gal gets it right to about 5.6

I stop with the silica after 4 weeks into flower personally - after that I use my well water to bring the ph up - maybe takes 1 gallon of water not run through the RO for 40 gals of water

ph up is a waste of money

like motherlode said bro probably way to high.A little goes a long way with silica u might need like 2ml to get you to 5.8 im in coco.usually i dont need more than 1 ml per gallon
