I realize its been quite awhile, Did you find out what the issue was? Rot? Nice scope- what mp?

What kind of USB cam did you buy? Do you like it?

how are you lighting the specimen? I just got my scope... It seems I need to get a separate halogen to light the subject from above...

Cap - I spent a pretty penny on a macroscope + usb cam fitting. It came with a ring holder that holds a penlight from above. Search for 45x macroscope on amazon. Honestly it sucks! Depth of field is garbage and I can't get the cam software to work for the life of me. It's intended for trics/flower and not microbes, but it was a total wash.

this is the scope I bought

Software works well and I use an LED scope light to light it. The light is for one of my other scopes. So far I have 5 microscopes that range in price from $1,500 to $90.

Hey woodsman, do you have a thread you are posting some of your pictures? I have been flirting with getting a microscope for almost two years- just about the time I say I have the money and settle on a scope, I find something that looks better(usually more expensive too). Your 1500 dollar scope- is that nice enough to keep forever? Camera, as well as 'binocular eyepieces' on that one? What would you suggest?

I purchased the 1500$ scope from a fiber optic company and will pass it on to my kids one day the other expensive scope is for use in a machine shop and I like it the best. The USB scope works well but is awkward to use, I attache it to my industrial scope to use it. I'll post some pix of them.

That looks cool does video too. You got any pix to post?

here are 3 of my scopes my new fave is the small one with the mount, it's a scope used by millwrights and trades people, found in machine shops. The stereo one is for checking fiber optic components. The small one is the USB.

Thats what I was lookin for. After reading about your equipment I couldn't wait to see some real "tric" pics. Which one of the three setups did you use to take the last three pics. I need one in my life.
Peace and Respect,
Ham
