A simple smoke detector wired to a relay module can shut off all the ballasts, fans, intake, etc. The smoke detectors can be daisy-chained together and wired to the Kidde Sm120X relay module with has NO and NC contacts. Wire it directly to contactors or relays and shut off all power. A couple smoke detectors in each growroom, one above the ballasts and even one more in the electrical room. All you need is a few octagon boxes, 14/3 wire, fittings, wirenuts, etc and for less than $200 you can have a smoke detector as a shutoff device. The red wire from the smoke detector is the signal carrier and the black and white is 120V.
