Cool, will go find it and read up.
Never grown that one, looks like it's a heavy yielder.

YS
Can be a heavy yielder, but is hard to work with in many ways, and hard to convince to veg sometimes. Every time actually.

how long you veg thems?
Months. I handwatered these every 2 days for months while I was sick.
Next time will be less than months for the veg.
Little surprise for the RAs, and foliar, and all the other shit to speed up the veg.
Hopefully no more than 6 weeks for total veg next run.

This is going to be more fun next time with 4 vert 750s smuggled in there.

Did you start that from seed? I showed a buddy pics from "it really happened" and he bought a pack from DrGT. Just curious to what expressions are in the mix. I bet it really smelled of Selma when took those panty shots. How bout a shot of them frames your using? Are you using the liner too?

do these plants only have 3 leafs? Looks like alot of it is 1 leaf or are they hiding?
Lots of 1 and 3-bladed leaves. Weird form due to chemo heritage. She is all prehistoric-looking. Unlike most other strains.

Thanks man, I feel pretty good about the way things have turned out considering. They need to be dialed further nutritionally I think.

Selma? Is that what I think it is?
I started 6 moms of these from femmed seed back in Sept of '10.
Out of 6, I had 2 that turned hella purple and were super chemo dom. Could not get them to stretch. But so cool looking, all purpled out and hella blingy. Then there were the two middle of the road. This one and another one with sort of similar form that smelled of marinara sauce sort of. Yielder as well, but less desirable look and smell. Then there were the two ghost og dom ones. One was a dead ringer for a ghost og. Beautiful. Second place for potency, very respectable potency. Fragile and weird-looking buds, not commercially viable. Can yield. Without the #1 I work with, I would have picked #2. Then the other ghost og dom-ish one was a bitch and smelled like celery sort of. I hated her. Hate. Did not like her form or smell at all.
All were cool and vigorous in their own way. Healthy, really healthy.
No liners for my frames. I have posted these pics elsewhere, but here they are.

I believe it was Jalisco Kid that mentioned something about the liners carrying additional disease risk in a system like this at some point. The plants did not want liners.

If your buddy can pop the whole pack, and finish them under a horti blue mh, then they will probably find a keeper or 2 that outclasses a lot of stuff.

Lots of flower growth in last 2 days. Excited to see how the rest of flowering goes down. Will take them to 63 days probably before I start chopping.

Oh yeah, forgot. A sweeter smell than usual these days. More aroma when I hit them with Cap's teas, also more aroma w/pungent dank qualities when I hit them with the guano teas. Been taking it easy on the teas so I can more accurately gauge responses to salt-based nutrition.

I believe that a healthy diet of beneficials lessens the plants nutrient requirements and/or also enhances their ability to sustain stronger nutrient doses.

For sure. Mostly been a slacker. Hit them with a bunch of Cap's teas last night for the disease resistance/less nute requirements. Performance is absolutely enhanced with Cap's teas.
I cut out EWC from my teas, don't want the N. Figured I should do that tea separate from the guano tea. Though the guano has lots of P, I am guessing it affects bennies differently maybe due to its organic form. Or some shit. My elemental P right now has got to be like 75 ppms or more due to my feed strength of 1900 ppms. So I know I am killing some shit off with the high salt P alone.
I really wish I could feed at lower ppms than I do, but at least I do not pay for fertilizer anymore.
Holy shit I would have burned through so much money if I was buying some retarded wack jug nutes. I literally could not afford it right now if I had not spent the <$200 on salts so I could grow for free for a year or two.
Let's not forget I also spent $30something on a quart of pond enzymes that I burn through at the rate of 15 ml/100 gallons. It was JK that pointed out that option in a couple posts years ago.

With your approach it may be better to do a microbe only tea like I do allowing you to focus on dialing the salts. I'm not dialing salts, but you know what I'm saying. Perhaps only use guanos as a boost during flower?

Yeah I am doing the tea with Cap's bennies, kelp, humic, a dash of alfalfa, molasses, and some fish hydrolysate. Then I have my leftover refrigerated guano tea. I will hit them with guano tonight.
That is some sound advice of yours. I am torn between having a more accurate representation of salt performance, and getting the awesome smells (and potency I bet) when I use the guano tea also.
I think I will go heavier on the guano. I tend to treat the whole room like I am going to smoke it all myself. More dankness is the goal for sure.

My tea is way simpler. Caps Bennies, Molasses, and a micro nutrient/microbe compost source called earth recharge. VERY low in nutes. This is what my plants get with every watering. It's an amazing foliar too. 2 weeks ago I added guano once, last week kelp once, and this week will be kelp and guano together. I also throw in banana manna and coco cat with every feeding. After this weekend it will be water and microbes only.

Every grower should treat their room like they are going to smoke all of it themselves. I do smoke all of mine myself. I've just about run out of my last run.

Fuck that! You need a second tent on a flip or some shit. Being about to run out is fucked.
I like having way more than I need for the rainy day fund. Cause shit happens.
Those Banana Manna fuckers have me over a barrel with their product. When I am balling I will have it sent to a lab for a precise analysis. For now, I think I should try to gently paint some of it onto the fan leaves with a paintbrush all foliar-ish. See what that does to it.
I am trying to take it really easy with the molasses and kelp. Overdid it before, trying to err on the side of caution this time around. Kelp is so important though. I will never grow without kelp.
Hey what's the deal with that coco cat? Any idea of precisely what is in it or anything?

Ok, well. . .about to run out means two big jars and fresh dispo run. I mean, what if the messiah comes? This bitch is ready. Either way my head gets tired of smoking the same few strains after a few months.

I already have kelp in the soil, so this is just a little bump several weeks into flower.

Good question about the coco cat. No clue what's in it. What I do know is that Tropical Organics makes banana manna, which I like, so I gave this a try. My guess is that it's a superthrive kinda dealio. Not to expensive and pretty concentrated.

This is my first run in super soil, my first running using caps bennies, and my first run using coco cat. Garden looks incredible. Not sure what to attribute it to. I think I've found an approach that works really well for me. Except the 'running out' part.

are you seeing any downside to the large buds? lol never thought id say that haha

just wonder if they would be more potent or tastier smaller?

have you grown this out in a bucket with soil ever? are the buds normal size if you have?

Having to manage humidity far more carefully is fucking annoying without proper humidistats located within the canopy. One of those things to get in the next reinvestment cycle.
More potent? Not really I have found if they are smaller. Light exposure is one of the primary factors with potency. Flavor will be a result of cool organic shit and spectrum, as well as the plant's naturally awesome flavors.
I can't make them smaller. I have tried.
I can't help it if they are so luxurious.

I have never flowered anything in soil. They would still be freakishly big, even in soil. They are built like that. Any chemo dom chemo crosses are built like that. All of them.
I did not realize at first what I was getting into exactly.

But mostly the humidity thing as far as disadvantages.
Would be easier to run a wifi that stretched, fill up a screen faster with 1 liter bottle size colas or something.
This one, when fine-tuned, is going to help me put Crohn's into remission faster. We made a deal. In all seriousness. Very strange shit happened when I was at my sickest.

Dude I would love to cross it to see what happened. The chemo expert who used to be here said that it was not likely that a chemo dom chemo cross would impart the freak strength, but I feel like it would be worth a try.
I feel like it would be awesome! Might take a bunch of beans to find something prizewinning, but I know of a shortcut for just such an occasion.
Who doesn't love a good reinvestment cycle haha? Got a few of those ahead of me.

Yeah Dank, lookin smooth in there.

In a room recently built I took 2 10" inlines and ran intake duct under the plants and fired the output into the bulb and relfector "zone". Mounted on the wall at 10" below reflector level, angled em up a lil. The flow underneath is amazing, the room itself is like a nice windy fall afternoon. Think I may eliminate wall fans entirely. A more commercial approach. I used box fans under my lowers with nice results before but the inlines kill it. Did I mention noisy though? hahaha
