Yes, but the data is loose and the sample sets seem varied so collection methods etc.... with only tomatos and now corn being reported as a negative? What other factors might have played?

I further imagine that such pests are relatively easily combatted with a wider/ more diverse IPM schedule and so the likely negatives, albeit good for acknowledgement, are a little dramatic and inconclusive. I am happy for this group to continue its studies and tell us the reality. This is why I have switched my latter research to VOC modulation.

As you might expect, we have included biological pest defense properties with any EM1 solution as in the case of Kamino, which as a diverse set of antagonistic bacterium to annoy any number of pests. Applying only LAB seems bonkers no? So as a system what is the relevance when yields are up 35 and 61 % respectively above chemical fert'd tomatoes?

Did anyone really expect this improvement was cost free? Plants running closer to true genetic potential are surely like racing cars versus road cars right? So more prone to failure in light of reduce energy to buffer when everything runs full whack elsewhere

As in the case of Trichoderma, I can prevent some aspects of heavy metal uptake but there is a limit. If the soil is really heavily polluted, it is likely some Cadmium will make its way in to plant tissue plasma, but we might find..

that the movement of the cadmium is restricted to below ground rather than above ground plant tissue plasma with the inclusion of Trichoderma, might be reason enough to include it right?, good post mate

With all research you have to look at everything and read the entire paper. Unless you've spent the $40 to download the full article and have been able to thoroughly go through the methods and other conditions, you really have no way of knowing what was done correctly or incorrectly...

Did they ventilate properly? Did they control light adequately? Did they adjust temperatures properly? Did they have an infestation in that greenhouse prior to the study? Did they use some variety that is more susceptible to the pest? Did they fertilize correctly? Did they water correctly?

Also, this is NOT a Bokashi study. It is supposedly on EM-1, as are the majority of papers on EM. From what I can tell it is on the liquid EM-1. And, I have to say that there can be issues with using EM-1 or activated EM1, especially when people don't know what they are doing
