Yeah they both have a tinge of red, I do know the breeders say that the genetics for both of these plants will get hughes of purple in late stages of flower.

Mine comes out of the faucet at around 7 to 8 as well, I have been filling up a a bucket with about 2.5 gal at time and dropping some air stones hooked up to an aerator and de-chlorinating it for atleast 24 hours before I water with it. Don't know if that really makes any difference
