Now that I have read this entire thread.....mr. Sput you have way too many issues. Take my advice. Get rid of all the crap you are throwing in your system. Go steril and keep it simple. A+b veg. A+b flower. And uc roots. That's it!
I have never run nute solution through my one ton chiller. I cool 3- 50 gal uc8xl, 1- 100 gal uc8xl13 and 40 gal f and d system with this chiller. Stainless steel is great but it still is porous, which will let nutrients and bacteria grow on it. Its easier to clean a remote coil in your rez...
Well the chiller has a coil inside that has coolant running through it. What will happen if you pump nutrient solution through your chiller is that the nutrient solution will build up on the coil and prevent the chiller from cooling the water properly. It will have to work harder, thus...
If you are chilling the water with a chiller and circulating the nutrient solution through the chiller, that's probably your issue. You need to chill a separate Rez. The chiller will get messed up and so will your nutrient water if you pump it through the chiller.
I hope the LEDs work out for you in the undercurrent. I tried them and it seemed that the LEDs just weren't enough light. I started to get deficient leaves and healthy roots would mush and brown. Hid all the way now. I will be watching this one. Good luck.
So in stead of changing out the pump. I decided to put a rheostat on the 220lpm pump to be able to control the the bubbles.
My theory behind the under correct stalling from the transition from pre veg systems to undercurrent is as follows.
I believe the stalling is not to do with the level of...
I have 2 220lpm pumps. Each pump is running 4 8in active aqua disks fed with 3/8 Id black tube. I'm thinking I will try your idea and replace the 220lpm pumps with 110 lpm pumps. Do you have any pics of your roots?
Six I like the way you think. If that is correct then that would make this statements false... "you can never have too much air in the undercurrent and DWC."
They still seem not to want to fall in. I'm running over 400 lpm in a 8xxl 13. Cc nutes. Ro water + cal mag at 390 ppm 67 deg 5.9 ph.
The roots just hover over the water line.
It's almost like they are scared to go swimming. Any ideas?
I am using clones out of the ez cloner. The water level is about an inch below net basket and that had where it's been since day 1of system. I will bring the level down. I see the theory behind it, you want to tease them into the water.
I was wondering if anyone has had the issue of the the roots not falling into the water. The roots seem to fill up the area above the water and below the cover.
I have grown roughly 8 runs using uc 8xl and uc 8xxl 13 gal.
The cutting are 2 weeks old.
I am using canna a+b and cal mag to 340...
Good luck with that. It is very difficult to veg in the UC with small plants. They are soooo sensitive. But go for it. Post some pictures of the progress.
....the best thing about this setup is that there is a 1 in gap between the net pots and the flood tray which lets the roots grow thru the bottom with no restrictions.
