Very tiny white bugs eating roots

Hi guys, thank for the feedback. I haven't found one since the spinosad drench at full strength, but also identified what I believe to be root lesion nematodes on the roots, these are definitly hard to get rid of. The spinosad soak also took care of a longstanding springtail population that no...

Very tiny white bugs eating roots

100% not root aphid though the symptom are similar. Been there done with root aphid before. these are invisible to the naked eye. probaby around 50um in length. about 1/100 the size of a root aphid. the "mealy bug residue" you are looking at is root hairs. for scale there is a mite on the brown...

Very tiny white bugs eating roots

Update: A drench with Success (spinosad) full strength was successful in eliminating the mites. However the root lesion nematodes are damn near impossible to kill. they survived 24 hours in 5% bleach solution, numerous drenches with 10% h2o2, and numerous other chemicals. the only thing that ive...

Very tiny white bugs eating roots

Hi All, I know this thread is old but ID never was correct. these are definitely not broad mites. They have two lumpy point at their back ends and definitely eat roots. I've also seen them attack root lesion nematodes (probably the worm pictured above) when trapped together in a drop of water...

Another possibility for the shift would be microbial activity. Could be good activity but more likely bad!

The reason your pH changes and you dont see a drop in ppm is likely that as your plants are using water they are using elements in different ratios than you are mixing. Remember some elements read higher on the ppm scale than others. The left behind elements are ones that tend to increase your...

Too much oxygen.... no! Too much free radical oxygen as in h2o2....100% yes. Will oxygenating you’re roots effect pH.... possibly. The added air contains some level of CO2. If you are enriching the co2 in the room and allowing it to settle to the floor and your air pumps are drawing room air...

    Light burn, should I harvest?

Watch any of the burned leaves in the top carefully if you let them go. If the small leaves die back into the bud they will more than likely cause bud rot. I'd consider taking the tops off now before that happens if they are close to finished anyways.

    Light burn, should I harvest?

I think you should start a new thread for this but I dont think your looking at the same problem. This looks nutrient deficient to me. Whats your pH,EC (ppm), what is the medium your growing in what are your root and room temperatures day and night?

Another possibility is to use change it to a heart type system and plumb the buckets to it so that you can increase the volume of water. This will stabilize the temp better and give you a bit more buffer. The downside is the plant are no longer isolated and if one goes bad they all will in rapid...

A couple of things you can do for the root problems. 1) use ridomil once to cure the problem if your comfortable using it. It should be safe to use at this stage. 2) h2o2 in the bucket maybe 5-10 ml per day. It will dissipate within 24 hours so you’ll have to stay on top of it. 3) cool the...

Also the temperature in that bucket is likely higher that the other plant as it is more exposed to thermal radiation not being shaded yet. I would measure the water temp directly in that bucket and if the plant share a common water source any root pathogens attacking this plant will start to...

The white film in your buckets may be precipitate from mixing nutrient wrong. If using cal-mag it should be added before nutrients or it will react and precipitation will occur making whatever it reacted with unavailable. Also never mix concentrated nutrients together. 22 c water temp seems...
