What’s going on with my girls??

Combination of dry root ball and transplanting may have left them unable to take up enough water, even though you added a gallon. I'm with Trixie; let them recover. Maybe even turn down the light a little to reduce transpiration and water demand? Whenever I transplant anything, I make sure...

please help! What is causing this discolouration?!

Please post when you do the harvest on the PP. I'm curious to see how it turns out in quality and quantity, compared to others that you've grown.

please help! What is causing this discolouration?!

Pruning to focus growth can be good, especially considering apical dominance. Also, removing leaves that are shaded likely doesn't hurt much. The Purple Punch plant caught my eye because it doesn't seem to have a lot of leaves, and leaves are what generate the energy to produce the compounds...

please help! What is causing this discolouration?!

I would not remove fan leaves at this point unless they are turning brown and fading. Mature leaves produce energy, they don't sap energy; light on the buds isn't generating energy flow in the plant.

    Raspberry Pi Hydro automation

Which sensor are you using? Got one of these last year to play around with checking out the spectral balance of grow light I built from 3W LEDs: https://www.adafruit.com/product/4698

    where is everyone getting Seeds!!!

Just got an order from him based upon a couple of posts here. Nice guy. Sent extras. A little more limited selection of strains than some larger sellers, but worth checking out. Very good communicator on availability and your order. He's great to talk to. Gave me info on doing short auto...

Where do i find good cheap seeds.

Trying to figure out how this works. I got an acct on Strainly and tried ordering, but it looks like it's just a message board like approach. Says not to send contact info, but then how does he send the seeds? Any tips? Thanks

Wanted PAR meter on the cheap

I looked at the spec sheet for the sensor in that build. It uses the "original" SQ-225 sensor that cuts off on the red and blue ends, so it's not going to give you an accurate reading if you're using LEDs. Check out the Spectral Error table on the spec sheet. The SQ-500 series (which is about...

Cheap amazon LEDs . Take a look...

Here's what the half-size light looks like. This covers 2 ft x 4 ft using 3W LEDs driven at about 3/4 max power. Spacing them out over a larger area allows the light to come in at various angles, so I get better penetration.

Seems unlikely you'd have a fire from a cold solder joint or bad component. I built some custom LED lights and hooked up constant current supplies. Had about 4 cold solder joints out of 1000 or so LEDs (tough to get a good melt and flow with those heat sinks!), and so far about 6 - 8 of the...

    Which lights are the best?

Whether or not you do a multi-layer grow will depend upon the variety you're growing and how you plan to train / prune them. It's a great idea though, to maximize your output per cubic foot of space. Those dimensions didn't sound like a container to me. Seems too wide, but OK. That's a wider...

Where should I top my plants?

Here's one of the most influential papers (to me) that I found on tests of LED lights on plant growths. The differences in growth and productivity are pretty stark between the different trials and illustrate the importance of the different wavelengths. So far, I have not found data...

Where should I top my plants?

You clearly do not understand, because Table 1 in that article (the link I provided) demonstrates just how far off you can be using lumens. For photosynthesis, the energy the plant gets is directly proportional to the number of photons it absorbs. The same is not true of nutrients. Your lumen...

Where should I top my plants?

They are only the same spectrum in the sense that you're measuring visible light from 400 - 700 nm. But the fact is that lumens and ppfd are different types of measurements. One is like measuring the amount of water coming out of a faucet. The other is like measuring how much hits a certain...

Where should I top my plants?

Lumens isn't the right way to measure light for plants because it's weighted to how the human eye perceives light. It gives more weight to the center of the spectrum which is green. Plants need red / deep red (620 nm - 680 nm) and blue (around 450 nm) most. They can use other colors, but it's...

Why are my seedling stretching? 😉

I'm a little late to the party on this one. Typically seedling grow tall and leggy because there's not enough light. I'm assuming by tall you mean the stem from the ground to the first set of leaves is more than about an inch. Blue light also helps, in my experience. Plants grow stockier...

Is Anyone Using Oco Labs' Superc Co2 Extraction Machine For Cannabis?

My prototype is working! Here's the first full run profile as displayed on the web interface. Note that I have no affiliation with OCO Labs. The title was just to identify the page.

Is Anyone Using Oco Labs' Superc Co2 Extraction Machine For Cannabis?

Is anyone interested in a better controller for the automatic pressure controller? I've been working on one that controls pressure. temperature, and the motor all in one device. It's not an easy plug-n-play replacement because some wires are soldered in and the thermal sensors and heatling...

    Young Seedlings Dying!

Two things. First, I only have to water mine in Jiffy pots every other day. If you keep them too wet, they get damping off disease as several posters have noted. You also get fungus gnats. Second, you should not apply concentrated fertilizer. It's not clear from your post what the "2.5...
