As the title suggests, I’m trying to understand how to feed my plants in the late flowering stage. We have lots of small colas and need to boost them before they go to harvest stage. thanks for any advice you have. X

we have cfl lights - currently 600 watts

We stopped feeding except for some home made potassium feed(from comfrey) - I don’t know how effective it is bcs it’s a bit old.

We have had these plants for about 5 months and getting near the end. The colas are still tiny. What can we do to boost the yield. Should we remove some of the branches and aim to just boost a few colas? Any advice much appreciated!

We've grown these three photoperiod plants, and switched to short days about 2 weeks ago. We're getting colas forming but they're still small. One option is remove all lower leaves, all branches that are never going to get enough light, and just keep some smaller leaves around the developing...

We're growing our first photoperiod plants and have just switched to <13 hours per day. Can anyone give me some idea how long it will take for the colas to be ready for harvest? The plants are four months old.

btw, we’re not trying to create a double-headed plant. We already have 5/6 longish sidestems on the main stem. The idea is to promote them, and we aren’t expecting the original tip to form two stems.

We were listening to a gardening programme and heard that the top shoot on a stem sends out chemicals which inhibit the growth of lower shoots. They recommended snipping the tip. we’re growing autoflowering (short cycle). We’ve trained the plants and have lots of nice side-shoots. would you snip?

Hi Mysticepipedon! I missed your comment on Saturday. We’re going to try 12/12. I can see that the self-germinated seeds (perhaps just 1 in 4, anyway) might throw up the recessive gene. The buds have been there two weeks at least doing nothing! So here’s goes. Thanks for your comment!

Hi guys. What do you think of this? I’ve put the lamp right down into the plant. Nothing is touching and all the buds are getting light. I’m going to try switching to 12/12 light and see if that triggers the buds getting going. I can see that a second gen seed might no longer be fully auto...

Update, there are two or three leaf fronds with brown tips. We’ve stopped nitrogen nutrient. Might use PK... we’ve got some comfrey rotted down which I’ve heard is good.

Very observant. The one brown leaf touched the lamp at one point and got heat burn.
