Harvest day - my drying room

Hey @7munkee, it was a nice harvest. The 4 Blueberry plants yielded 1.37kg dried and trimmed, which is apparently about 3lbs, or 48 ounces. You have a gift my friend 🤓✌️

Where did the seed in my buds come from?

Hi all, I grew outdoors last summer (southern hemisphere), and have since smoked about 1kg (2.2lbs) of the bud. In that bud I have found a single seed. I grew from femseeds outdoors and didn't see any hermis. Is it likely that my bud was pollenated from a nearby male cannabis plant? I live...

This is Blueberry by Seedsman. She filled in very nicely and finished a similar colour to the photo @Poekie posted earlier. Very vigorous!

It's nice to see that you were happy to give the little guy a home. You got a pretty cool experience in return. I'm with you, a little bit of wildlife won't hurt a healthy plant.

Budrot tips and pictures to aid identification

Hey @ComfortablyNumb. Thanks for the feedback. I hear what you are saying about the potting mix, however I also top dressed with homemade compost and gave a fortnightly feed with worm juice. Plants were super healthy throughout the grow and roots were healthy and white when I inspected after...

Do you protect your outdoor plants against rain?

Whoa, nice plants though. Hope they bounce back - l'm guessing they will because they look super healthy. Double edged sword I guess - lots of big healthy leaves means lots of weight when wet.

Do you protect your outdoor plants against rain?

Hi @kevinfever, I can definitely vouch for the milk spray treatment for PM. Haven't used it on cannabis as I didn't have PM problems, but have used it regularly on cucurbits (zucchini, cucumber, pumpkin) for many years. Make sure you keep the ratio 10% milk, 90% water - too much milk can...

Do you protect your outdoor plants against rain?

I It looks pretty sturdy but my main problem is that wind and rain usually occur at the same time where I live. Wind ripped the eyelets out off a good quality tarp when my plants got wet - the canopy would have ended up airborne.

Do you protect your outdoor plants against rain?

Hey @grnmtn, thanks for your tips. I tried to shake and dry buds once they got wet but I think they may have been too dense. Budrot was rife about a week after the buds got wet. No other issues at all with the plants, caterpillars were kept at bay with BT spray and no signs at all of PM. I think...

Budrot tips and pictures to aid identification

I'm no expert but it sounds like an ongoing problem in your climate. Probably best to hunt some resistant genetics if you can't keep them dry.

Do you protect your outdoor plants against rain?

Thanks @Mostlymooses, in my reading I didn't come across OG Kush as a recommendation for wet weather but I will look into it. Was on my wish list already so might need to bump it up a few places. In the end I had no PM but did have problems with budrot. ☹️

Nice work, I like your style. I love a long veg - you saw my plants 😉. Would really like to try some landrace in the future, would like to see how Durban Poison grows outdoors here. Hope it warms up for you soon, I'm just getting the first winter blast for the season. ✌️☮️

    Homesteader’s homegrow diary for '21

Depends on what you need @Homesteader but I can see why you like the gears 👍. I would be using it to set up a waterwheel in the creek at the bottom of our property to drive a piston water pump. I could also see an impressive block and tackle if you need to lift heavy stuff. Also agree with...

Does that guy @Aqua Man Still Grow

I'm picturing romcom potential too. Dude falls in love with his girls Girls gets really sick. Aqua Man saves the day by teaching the dude to care for the girls properly (we need a montage 😉) Girls gets better. They live happily ever after... until Autumn.
