If you need to store your lacto serum without refrigeration, add brown sugar until no more will dissolve. The average amount is about 1:1. Makes the bacteria go dormant. If it starts fermenting add more sugar(wife wonders where all the brown sugar went). I use about 1 tsp of this per quart/2...
