    Healthy Roots Drive Killer Yields

You might not be able to see what is going on in your plant’s root zone, but you should know that it matters. I would love to get your input on this article about the rhizosphere, and plant-microbe interactions. Cheers, Stew...

OK, so what does your username mean?

The phyllosphere is all of the parts of the plant that are above ground, in contrast to the rhizosphere which is the roots and associated microorganisms.

    Breeding Auto flowers for seeds

Here's an article about growing articles commercially that talks about seed making. In my experience STS is much more reliable than CS for fem seed making. Cheers! https://www.greenhousegrower.com/crops/cannabis/feminized-autoflowering-cannabis-for-commercial-production/

    Hi I'm Stew

Thanks for the welcome Dirtbag! I remember when they invented the internet, and suddenly cannabis growers were sharing information online on this site called overgrow. I have benefited from THC farmer and similar communities, and happy to give back in some small way. Cheers!

Hi guys… Starting a new commercial operation.. looking for cultivation expert

Like I said, I apologise if I broke protocol. I suppose malicious actors are always a threat, but I choose to live without concern. I am in no way minimizing the OpSec of others. I am out though, and no putting the genie back in the bottle. My tax return says "cannabis grower" and my...

Hi guys… Starting a new commercial operation.. looking for cultivation expert

Hi, sorry if I broke protocol here. I live in Canada, and operate 100% in compliance with federal law. That wasn't always the case though...I am fully out of the closet now, and no one needs to be concerned with my OpSec. Xo, Stew

    Hi I'm Stew

I am a newbie here at THCfarmer, but I have worked with cannabis for awhile. I got into commercial cultivation about ten years ago, and I still learn something about this plant every day. I am here to share, but also to learn. If I can help, please let me know, and I will do my best. Thank...

UVC and UVB light for mold control and increased trich production

UVC and UVB light for mold control and increased trich production

The most recent evidence suggests that UV exposure does not benefit cannabinoid synthesis. I will try to find the relevant link. There is lots of evidence of UVC efficacy for eradication of pathogens in HVAC applications. I have used UVC to eradicate PM in commercial grows with great success...

Reversing an S1 to cross with an S1

Unless you have reliable pedigree data for the germplasm in question, the only way to understand the extent to which a cannabis line has been inbred (IBL) is through progeny testing. If you make an S1, and the progeny are consistent in phenotypic expression, this would indicate that the plant...

Polyploid diploid tetraploid Oryzalin Treatments to Induce Polyploids

This is an interesting story, but is contrary to my experience. I ran pinks for many years, Bubba Pink was a favorite, but also Island Pink, Greasy Pink, and many others. I supplied a lot of other commercial growers w cuts, and crossbred and inbred lots of Pinks. I did not see any evidence of...

Reversing an S1 to cross with an S1

If you cross an S1 with another unrelated S1 you have made an F1 (First filial generation). Heterosis (hybrid vigour) would be restored, and there would be reasonable phenotypic consistency if the S1's (P1's in this case) were the progeny of inbred lines. RBX, BX etc are only used in cannabis...

Polyploid diploid tetraploid Oryzalin Treatments to Induce Polyploids

I'm not sure how many hobbyists will be experimenting with ploidy, but there are certainly opportunities for crop improvement. I know some hemp breeders who are working with tetraploids, and seeing increased yeilds. Triploids are promising in their ability to resist pollination by diploid...
