    Reservoir for drip system stinks??

Add LAB or bottles enzymes maybe. Real answer; biobizz shouldn’t be run in a dripper setup. You’d need to be so on top of it that i wouldn’t be worth the effort. If you want to run organics with a drip system you can do dry amendments and water only.

Making an open source drying device -- help us get it right

Wine fridge (Peltier / thermoelectric) + cheap dehumidifier (also a Peltier) + a RH controller like an INKBIRD and you got yourself a manual cannatrol. If you want to take it to the next level you can write some code and automate it.

Making an open source drying device -- help us get it right

Don’t fall for cannatrols none sense. Dew point is nothing more than a calculation of RH and temperature. You can use RH/temp or dew point to guide your dry. It will get the same results. I built both of my fridges for under $150 with second hand stuff. Brand new off Amazon you can do it for...

Making an open source drying device -- help us get it right

Compressor fridges will not work. The only successful drying method with a compressor is the lotus cure method which involves paper bags to save the bud from massive RH swings when the compressor kicks on.

Making an open source drying device -- help us get it right

Yes, I agree. You don’t need to be in a sealed environment. However, controlling a sealed environment is a helluva lot easier than the latter. I don’t know if you can do a fair comparison to drying techniques of other crops. Different end goals. terpenes are volatile and when one drying...

Making an open source drying device -- help us get it right

Sorry, I haven’t been on in a while. Honestly, I appreciate the inspiration the cannatrol gave us but I don’t agree with with their drying protocols. There is a thousand ways to approach this but ideally you want to slowly draw the moisture out of the bud while maintaining a low temperature...

What are some cool products you can find on AliBaba/AliExpress for weed?

DHgate for cheap china glass. (Yes, yes, support your local glass blower). If your tight cash id recommended it. People were buying LEDs on Ali for a while. Cuts out the middleman.

Is spending extra on high end lights such as kind led, gavita, fluence worth it?

If I were buying lights I’d also look into Mammoth lighting. An engineer from HLG broke off and started that company.

Is spending extra on high end lights such as kind led, gavita, fluence worth it?

Quality, name recognition, and customer service is what you’re paying for. Light diodes differ in quality. Samsung will make the same diode and grade them different in quality. The high end lights tend to buy the highest grade. One high end brand that is a staple is HLG. There is a lot of...

Sure do. Lower the temperature the better. Just don’t freeze your material on accident.

Cannabis Drying/Curing Refrigerator - Build Questions - Need Help!

I don’t see a need for a dehum in a compressor fridge set up. In the peltier wine fridge it is needed because the humidity continue to increase without the fridge ramping up the onboard peltier. We use the dehumidifier to lower RH but more importantly it increases the temperature. This in...

Cannabis Drying/Curing Refrigerator - Build Questions - Need Help!

if the humidity doesn’t dip to low and stays close to average around 60%RH I would imagine the it will take a while to dry at 40F. I dry with the fridge and when I get around to it I will throw the bud in grove bags. If I didn’t use grove bags I’d just use mason jars and burp for the first month.

The Cannatrol™ Cool Cure Box. Perfect dry and cure every time?

I was mostly being annoying. I’ve build a few of the cannatrol copy cats. The cannatrol originally was intended for the meat industry, then they pivoted to the cheese, and finally they realized the only people who would pay the premium was cannabis. You can get about 1.5lb to maybe 2lb dry...

Cannabis Drying/Curing Refrigerator - Build Questions - Need Help!

the goal is to get the bud to a moisture content of 12%. We achieve this by bringing the environment to 62% rh with the lowest temperature achievable. By dropping the rh by 0.5% a day you can lower the RH without raising the internal temperature by more than a few F. Usually it takes around 2...

The Cannatrol™ Cool Cure Box. Perfect dry and cure every time?

How is it not a wine cooler? I see a thermoelectric peltier in the back. It even has the same ugly blue light. It has a cool controller on top but other than that I don’t see a difference.
