My 2025 dry ice kief process

High all. Just wanted to show this year’s kief production. I used 220 micron mesh bag, Pelletized dry ice, and 94 grams of trimmed buds. Pic 1…partial amount of trimmed buds. Pic 2…sifted kief on glass covered poster. I use the box to prevent drifting of kief cloud while sifting. Pic 3…kief...

2025 outdoor grows! Let’s see em!

Got my rain gear up for the next few days of crappy rainy weather. Been checking for bud rot and cut out a couple tiny pieces. Took off one small early bud to dry and taste. Looking forward to harvest in 2-3 weeks. Gonna wet trim this year after dry trimming last year. Having 2 plants vs 4 makes...

2025 outdoor grows! Let’s see em!

Put up rain protection over this feminized Chunky Skunk prior to brief showers early this morning. Worked like a charm. Easy to cover and easy to open when rain was done. Only three leaves have turned partial yellow. Gave final feeding with FF tiger bloom and bloom booster FF Cha Ching. Tops are...

    Is this ready for harvest?

Definitely check trichomes with a 10x loupe. Looks like you have other plants behind this one to compare. Sometimes when I’m close I take half the plant if weather’s a factor to get at least 50%.

2025 outdoor grows! Let’s see em!

Always wondering how much, if any, defoliation should be done on this very dense, healthy, and sturdy Chunky Skunk Indica. I’ve been removing interior side growths and large fan leaves in the dense underside that don’t get any direct sun but I’m concerned about too much defoliation. After all...

Definitely bud rot on those plants. Don’t panic! Just start cutting out affected areas. You might lose 5-10% but you’ll save most of the rest. Vigilance is key this time of year and immediate action should be taken trimming out BR buds.

2025 outdoor grows! Let’s see em!

My Skunk XL is doing well. She’s fairly well supported with stakes and string but I’ll add another row or two of string to coral and secure her. LOTS of tops!!! Ms. Chunky Skunk is one stout and funky smelling lady. The internal stakes and strings are merely for support when buds get super fat...

Thx for the heads up on the middle pole and securing sides. I’ve got lots of attachment points and securing methods to employ if needed and I’ll let y’all know how it goes. This plant is sooooo skunky and beefy, she’s definitely worth all the attention I can give.

2025 outdoor grows! Let’s see em!

Thx. I’m way ahead of you. I have an extension pole from old tree trimmer that I’ll mount a tennis ball on the end. When the tarp is up I’ll use the pole and ball to make a high point that will force the water to drain effectively away from the plant. I’ll take pics when it’s up (hopefully never).

2025 outdoor grows! Let’s see em!

Well I finished erecting my rain tarp supports and hopefully I don’t need to use it much this summer and early fall. Glad I kept unused 1.25”x10’ pvc and 3/4” pvc conduit. But if so I’m ready to cover Ms. Chunky Skunk with a 10’x10’x 6 mil thick semi-clear plastic sheet with tie downs (TBD)...

I’d give her another 1-2 weeks if weather permits. Good trichome density.

I’ll add the vet wrap to my duct tape and baling wire. Definitely want to keep what amounts to 25% of my plant.

Looks like she needs more sunlight and nutrients. Looks thirsty in the pics.

2025 outdoor grows! Let’s see em!

For very dense growth plant, how much internal trimming should I do? A grower in Maine said inner parts of plant should be clear enough for a bird to fly through. I’m not so sure. Oh yeah, a major branch started separating so I secured it with cable ties and duct tape bandage. Seems to be...

Dropping to 50 F at night. Should I bring potted plants in, cover them or?

50s and 40s are fine at night. Even upper 30s won’t bother a healthy plant. Days usually recover to 60s and 70s. It’s the combination of shorter days and cooler nights that kick plants into flower mode. Enjoy the ride!

2025 outdoor grows! Let’s see em!

Had to remove fencing around both plants yesterday to allow for expansion and access for inside trimming. Fencing was only needed early on to keep out deer. The thick Chunky Skunk is definitely a thick fatty with almost no supports needed. I only added stakes and strings for safety when buds get...

The least expensive shade cover solutions for small-medium sized plants are beach or golf umbrellas. Quick setup and takedown. I plan to use a Tommy Bahama umbrella to cover my 7 footer.
