I've never thrown out coco. Take as much of the roots out as I reasonably can and reuse. I do use a product like hydroguard to eat the left over roots.

Pick a bud, any bud, well several actually, and look at the trichomes and use your best judgement as to percentage of trichomes that have become amber in color. Some harvest at about 10% amber, I prefer around 50% amber. I would say you have a while yet before you are harvest ready.

Growing multiple strains, rather than trying to fine tune my environment, I choose/keep those that perform well in the environment that I have and wean out those that do not. This way i am always trying new strains and can keep those that I and those I provide for like. Musing over. 🤔🤪

Sounds like over wet roots that have developed root rot to me.

Learned to grow in the 80s myself, I hear you about gorrilla growing and haven't done more than 1 or 2 plants outside in decades. Cool thing about cloning, you know exactly what you have. 😉
