It's "how doers get more done"!

Desert Dude Learns Some Things About Growing Weed

I hate fogging the garage up every time with the humidifiers while the plants dry so I have a stupid idea. I'm going to use a wardrobe box out on the patio. It seems like a solid plan in theory so WTH, give it a try!

Tomorrow the bigger plant gets chopped, it's plenty ready... The smaller one looks sad but is basically a couple huge buds!

Desert Dude Learns Some Things About Growing Weed

I've been trying to help these two plants out a bit.... they're not the greatest but they're budding and look like they'll both produce some. Given my extensive absence I'll be happy with whatever I can get hahah.

This PK was always the strongest and fastest which allowed me to do some topping and TLC back before we left.. It obviously needs some TLC but is clearly my best hope to finish. This other PK suffered greatly and we'll see if it can pull through.. The four Bubblegums were shriveled up...

Desert Dude Learns Some Things About Growing Weed

I'll throw up a couple pics tomorrow but not much to see. The long and short of it is that the two Purple Kush have endured while the four Bublegum dried up and died. These were the only seeds I had and were provided by my friends who purchased from HGC. Plants were in light colored 15/25 gal...

Desert Dude Learns Some Things About Growing Weed

Sorry I haven't had much time to spend on the board here. It's been a summer with some ups and downs but mostly ups fortunately. I was gone for nearly two months (June & July) and now have only recently come home from a trip to Alaska. Due to my extensive absences my plants suffered and out of...

Yes our water is also very hard, pH runs between 8 & 9, maybe even higher at times. When I hand water I lalways add vinegar, aprox. 30ml per bucket to get it down to 6.5/6.6. When growing indoors I always used our RO water.

They were all set up with irrigation but there was obviously a little trouble somewhere. My guy came over once or twice a week but he also had other things to do here and they just needed more attention I guess. I need to get out and check them during a watering cycle and see what's up. I'll go...

Desert Dude Learns Some Things About Growing Weed

We finally returned home 8/3 and these plants were suffering, in fact, three of them are dead! We brought my 11 yr old granddaughter back with us so I couldn't really attend to them right away. We took the girl on a "park tour" to Grand Canyon North Rim, Horseshoe Bend, and stayed a night at...

Growing outdoors from seed in high desert Southern New Mexico

The cucumber plants we had produced like crazy although they spill out all over the ground. The squash spills out all over the ground also but didn't produce near as much.

Cpurola's Outdoor grow in Southeast Michigan 2026

I planted marigolds and other calendula around the garden area as it's supposed to be a distraction or companion plant or whatever. Don't know if it's actually helping for the weed plants but it for sure didn't help for the broccoli earlier this spring.

Yes I switched up to 15gal bags after some advice from OldChucky. I've even got a couple 25gal bags in the yard, although they were used for cucumber and squash earlier this year they could get repurposed in the future.

This is all quite a challenge, keep at it!

Desert Dude Learns Some Things About Growing Weed

I left a few instructions but overall I did a lot of prep work before leaving; my new soil amendments experiment and the irrigation. It will be over a month still before I get home but currently things appear to be doing ok despite the onset of wicked summer heat there. I will be glad to get...

The plants look great but since this is all kinda new for me I've become a fan of topping also.

Desert Dude Learns Some Things About Growing Weed

My "caretakers" sent me some photos today. The plants look good but it sure is sad to not be there with them! The runt is still rather pathetic. These last two were real tiny when I left, one Purple Kush (foreground) and another Bubblegum...

Desert Dude Learns Some Things About Growing Weed

I played keys and/or guitar in bands going back to my younger days. These days I almost exclusively do guitar because my wife's main instrument is keys.

Thanks for the well wishes! We're hanging out in the midwest, staying with my wife's bestie in her new place. We have family here and we'll do some music gigs with old friends and bandmates. Adjusting to the weather here, always more humid. Last time we did this in 2024 we trailered the bike...
