Was anyone else infuriated by this study and the media’s coverage of it? This ‘study’ was conducted using 27 cannabis users and 17 non-users in a driving simulator. How does this sample size even qualify it as a study? They found that kids that started smoking before age 16 were especially bad drivers when they were sober? Even if this correlation was confirmed with a larger study, in no way does this establish causation. If a kid smokes at a young age they are more likely to also break driving laws? What ground-breaking findings.
When will they study the driving habits of alcoholics when they are sober?
In a study published in the Drug and Alcohol Dependence journal, researchers at McLean Hospital found that heavy, recreational marijuana users were worse drivers even when sober, compared to non-users.
I agree the study can't confirm a direct correlation with such a small sample size. However, it would not surprise me if it was true, a lot of pot smokers are below average in varieties of situations. Also I don't know why all pot smokers try compare to alcohol they're not comparable as how they effect the brain and I feel its a bit of a cop out being like so what if we're worse drivers I bet alcohols worse if yah get me
