It was a rough start, but the strong finish is what counts.

Have you tried pool shock?

I've been using chlorine for a few years it's ideal for the water purity and its considered an essential element for plant health.

You can buy 1kg of chlorine powder ± $15 that will treat 100s of 1000s of litres of nutrient.

So I should just use tap water without letting it air out? I mean we are first use tap water here. It still smells like a swimming pool. Hence my Eldorado Spring Water issue.

World limits are 5ppm so yes it's fine to use.

Unfortunately some can detect the small ppm it's a well known human occurrence like some can detect a few ppm of arsenic or similar strong smelling chemicals that prod our senses.

Then chloramine isn't able to be aired out as it requires endothermic reaction to breakdown.

Chlorine water safe

Haven't tried it, but after some research I may give it a test on a plant in the next grow.

I've heard of using bleach, but haven't tried that either. The names bleach and chlorine always make me think poison, lol.

The AK-47 is kicking ass!

Damn air hose stole the focus from the roots! You can still see how they basically doubled in size since the last root pic.

Just noticed pre-flowers forming, so I will consider it to be in flower now and will begin to transition its nutrients. Planned to transition starting on Sunday anyways. My schedule was a week off, not too bad for guessing on my first 12/12 grow.

2nd pic pre-flower is looking a bit roundish, but I bet pistils will shoot out of that in a day or two.

Really hard to use tap water, the dog won't even drink tap. I am really hard pressed to give it to my ladies. Haha Then again the dog won't drink the water if there is a floatie from his own face in the water. Spoiled

It is supposed to eliminate the need for Cal mag. If there is any lead or heavy metals they say don't use it because cannabis is an accumulator.

Ok, probably why I am having issues with nutrient absorption. Too many heavy metals in the fracking spring water. My PPM are on spot, although I don't know which are more abundant. Spring water gone, an no more 3day air out on tap water to let the chlorine dissipate. See what happens.

I am new to it . But I bet if you are using bottled spring water there isn't very much heavy metals.

That's what I thought, although I have had a continuous problem with the ladies using available N, I am in two weeks of chopping one tent, 6 weeks on the next. Probably too late fer me to make a difference in tent 1, but 2 I still have plenty of time.

Depends on the source, but should have less than tap water in general. Some areas have amazing tap water though, but then there are those with very hard water.

@MileHiGhost RO or distilled is still best for hydroponics, IMO. You get complete control over what is in the solution. If PH fluctuations are a worry, you can buffer it yourself with PH up and down. PH up until 10.0, then PH down until 6.0, should provide a good buffer. I also recently learned of General Hydroponics' PH Pro line which contains no fertilizers so it won't affect NPK, although the normal line has very minor affects on NPK anyways.

Edit: My tap water happens to be 0.592 EC (~300ppm) so it falls into the low end of "very hard water". Years ago there was a contamination scare as well, which is when I installed my RO system. Now I get an average of 0.023 EC as my starting point.

We have great water in Dinosaur. Unfortunately it is contaminated by old plumbing. Very high levels of lead
