Hey guys, setting up another flower room and giving the Gavita 1000e's a try this time. The room is sealed and walls/ceilings covered in White Panda Plastic. It is framed 11'x13' with 12'3" ceilings. This room has a 3 ton mini split, I will be installing a water cooled Co2 Gen. I will be running 12 plants at a time, I got the ceiling height so trying to take full advantage of the Gavita's. I bought 4 of the 1000e units and the EL2 currently but now that I think about it I am wondering if I should add 2 more so I have 6k total. I do not want to over power the room and have too much un-usable light but I don't mind spending extra assuming the extra product is worth it. Also I have been looking into the LEP's (270e .01) and maybe a few of these would be a better option in addition to the 4k of Gavitas but I don't want shading due to the difference these lights need to be (Ie. 3' vs 18")

Anyway can you guys give me some advice on getting proper lighting in this Flower Room?

Thanks!

You're like right on the fringe of needing 2 more lights.. I woulda bought 8-9x 750w Gavita DE if it was me.

But the plasmas sound like an AWESOME idea to me. I have a buddy running 750flex/270plasma (41.01 blue) over UC systems and CRUSHING. He's getting 2 per pair of 750/270 and his shit looks AMAZING which I attribute to the deep blue. PM me my buddy has some of these 270 (both .01 & .02) lights new & cheap.

Yeah I know some smaller watts would of been better BUT the reason why I bought this place was ceiling height, I should of framed bigger but this is what I want for now. I am doing a coco setup here, I have a 24 site 13 gallon UC system with 8k magnum xxxl and a bunch of t5 side lighting at my home but want something simple here. I will PM you for price but still looking on other peoples input, I don't want to short change my setups over a few hundred hear and there but I am pretty new to this game, I have 2 operational sites going and this will be the 3rd, I know a little but far from enough. Steer me in the right direction guys!

4x 1k watt Gavita would work very nicely for that space, allowing a path in the middle to access the plants.

Yeah I'm not switching to 600/750's, I just got these 4 1000e's and they are going up, just debating if they are getting some extras next to them... I want to take advantage of my ceiling height available in this room. So far it looks like you guys think I should go with 6 units. Keep the input coming guys.

So I ordered 2 more 1000e's, I setup the 4 I have last night and wow these things blow my xxxl's out of the water by far. I will have 6000k watts total... But I am still wondering if I added a few LEP's about the height differences, thoughts?

Ost,I have no experience with plasma myself but it seems they would have to be at the same height as the hps so they dont block light/create shadow?Good question for gavita.I Also have a friend running both gavita plasma and sunsystem Lec's and he says Lec's all the way for the win and cheaper too.Ive been looking at these because of the way they throw light and because they are made to run up high like DE lighting, seems like a good supplemental lamp/reflector combo.

Gavita would reccomend 6 1000's or 12 600's, and 6 270 LEP's if you wanted to go the LEP route. I picked tech supports brain many times for room configuration / lighting layouts. Basically the smaller the room the harder. It can get complicated fast.

Also, they would recommend orca on the walls and even canopy of light for the entire room (no aisles, or dim spots.)

As far as the LEP configuration, I never got a clear idea. They do layouts as a service, I would think its geared more towards commercial size rooms, not sure how much it costs though.

LEC's look pretty cool, I would almost want to vertical bulb a few of them between my plants though with the Gavitas... I would think 4 or 6 of them for supplemental would be nice? I don't see many ballast options for those bulbs though?

Anyone else have word on Plasma heights?

Ya i dont think how they configure rooms is real world scenario. Also if you have 1000w fixture and dim you use the same power just reminding people. Wasteful

MWD is right about how they configure rooms, more than one way to skin a cat.I am not sure about using the same power at all settings but it makes sense and i do know as you dim the bulb you lose/change the spectrum, this is the whole reason they even made the 6/750 DE otherwise why even have a 600 or 750 if you could just dim a 1K to whatever you wanted as efficiently?Costwise their isnt alot of difference in the fixtures.
