its actually so unbelievably simple it's stupid, only 2 main numbershello bro !
nice set up, too much information to me
have no ideia from where to begin in hydro
good luck !!
Hi Mike,i'm getting a bit worried about my upcoming grow, some concerns:
heat - i'll be able to run up to 95f (think az or tx) by supplying 1400ppm co2 along
with constant watering and intense light. i have a ge portable ac unit
but i don't want the energy suck. (i have lots of amperage safety margin left,
i'll only be using 20 some amps out of the 220v 60amp circuit i ran)
plus i'll have to cut holes in walls
power bill - i've calculated around a $400 increase in my bill, if i'm under that
all the better, if it's much over that i'm gunner have to change up my game,
eat some crow and go a more power friendly growing style that most or all on here use
time - it's been 22yrs; that's a long fuckn time and old father time hasn't been
exactly kind to me. cancer, [6yrs cancer free now) chemo, radiation, destroyed back,
copd the whole 9 yds. i would say the creater (& myself) put the big suck on me...
but it's been a hell of a ride and i would change very little of it, like be a little kinder
in my earlier, pre hs days,
money - i'm on a fixed income and shit's feckn expensive these days. i've been
trying to put this together on a shoestring budget for over 1.5yrs and my babbies may suffer
bc of it.
failure- failur is always a concern. definitely a little apprehensive about having
to come on here and face you all after a failure, especially after all the talking i've done
lighting - my lighting is a mix of auction bought stuff And 2 of the cheapest 800w
lights that medic grow sells (fold 8oo/800w). i have never used leds, only hps (i have 2
1000w hps that i originally was going to use. if push comes to shove i could use them.
don't want to tho as i'd have to tear down my 4x8 tent, cut 8" holes in the wall and
ceiling, buy blowers, ducting etc. it would be a lot more money and work
the dreaded "suck zones" in the backs of my tents. as of yet i have no clue how i'm
going to get back there to work & inspect etc.
to be continued -peace-
hell ya brother, that's why i came here, it was to hopefully passHeya Mike I’m happy to see you here I’m typically an outdoor grower but I have grown a few plants indoors I have only grown in soil and I’m hoping to get some in hydro 30 or so a friend grew in hydro and had very good results as I used to get some from him and I believe it was gdp which was excellent smoke. He showed his set up he was growing under a 1000 watt mh light his plant was in a 5 gallon pail that had a lid on it with a hole cut in it for the main stem inside the pail was a big root ball and an airstone that was hooked up to an oil less air pump he had a reservoir for his nutes with a heater in it and a pump running to his plant I believe it circulated back to the reservoir I can’t remember the exact setup but it seemed to be fairly simple setup there wasn’t any intake air or exhaust that I remember it was in his open basement and I think he had a fan blowing on the plant area I would like to try and grow with a simple setup like he had I know that it is very old school but I believe that keep it simple stupid was his moto would you be able to coach me how to recreate that style of growing and what equipment I would need to get it going I use mega crop 2 part nutes I have had excellent results with it outside I have a 400 watt my light and a 1000 watt variable light as well my grow room is approximately 5 ft by 5 foot with a6.5 ft ceiling I have fans filter heater humidifier ph pen ppm pen I have been growing outdoors for 8 years now but I get bored in the winter months I’m disabled and living on my pension from work I’m not rich but not poor either my back and neck are pooched I’m going to be 67 in April so I’m limited to how much I can lift etc. I grew some autos and photos in soil in my room when I first started growing with some success in soil in 5 gallon pots would you be able to help me get started in hydro? Thanks for listening Peace bro!!
Yo Mr. Mike she looks GREAT ! You seem to have a handle on things . I am also from FLA . Fort Lauderdale , but have lived in Jersey for the past 13 years . I am doing DWC for the first time. Been having problems getting a bean to pop but I got her going now , so I guess we’ll see . Good luck buddy.oh, temp around 70. humidity @ 69%... and yes, i'm too fn cheap to buy black buckets. there may be additional pics and info on my homepage, check it out
bingo! my home is split level w/ a 4' crall space, i allready haveHi Mike,
Not sure if this will help your heat issue, but this is what I did. I’m growing in a basement bedroom where the closet adjoins to unfinished space. I installed a plastic door in the closet (see photo) and then I run a spare tent exhaust fan with vent from the unfinished space to the grow room where the tent is.
So it’s pumping cooler and drier air into the lung room. Seems to work for me……View attachment 2332734View attachment 2332735View attachment 2332736
@PlumberSoCal2 hey man, you ever done any of this?
There is a reason why you dont exaust in the attic.tent air is usually70%+ wet and your spare room looks like its made from wood.its a nice way to get moldHi Mike,

Sorry, I probably wasn’t clear. I agree that you shouldn’t pump warm humid air into an attic if you don’t want mold. I’m proposing moving cooler/drier air into the grow room where the tent is located…..not exhausting from the tent. There is a reason why you dont exaust in the attic.tent air is usually70%+ wet and your spare room looks like its made from wood.its a nice way to get mold
def won't be doing that. i'll prolly have to go to bottled co2 andSorry, I probably wasn’t clear. I agree that you shouldn’t pump warm humid air into an attic if you don’t want mold. I’m proposing moving cooler/drier air into the grow room where the tent is located…..not exhausting from the tent.
I’m not pumping humid air out of the tent.
Here’s my humidity by room….I am moving air from the basement (38.6% humidity) to the “Tent Room” (46% humidity) with my fan. This lowers my tent room (lung room?) humidity and temperature.
Sorry for any confusion……DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND VENTING HUMID AIR IN YOUR ATTIC!
First set of temperature and humidity is the Tent

thank you,Wow what a setup!
If in Florida, DeSantis raged against legalizing and after this election he issued 22 grower licenses he was sitting on for 18 months for Medical. So what a wonderful...
I don't know hydro but that's a lot invested.
Now if only Texas would pull the packet of licensees out from under their "Tex ass."
They are holding on to permissions approved from 2023 which they can issue anytime.
