I'm using both and man qb and blurp, they really require more magnesium and calcium under high power blurples than white light but they keep the stretch down. I like the stretch though I think it helps yield.

Yeah i am having some nutrient issues right now. I think i disturbed my micro heard with my excessive experimenting :D but i supplement with teas weekly and haven’t noticed cal or mag def while doing that. I don’t have a very tall tent (1.85 cm) i have about 30 cm or so head space left above my light, i think thats ok don’t want to push too hard. I hope i get something good out of them. I just plucked couple of larfy buds from nl and it smells soooo goooood. It smells like, its difficult to describe but, sour jellybeans and bananas and that distinct cannabis smell with a molasses/caramel smell, they were faint not overwhelming but they are definitely there. I wish i pulled them with clean hands but i had some aact sludge and i don’t want to smoke those :D

Also gave another tea with nearly zero smell (48 hours). I made some em1 and although i now i should add it last since these bacilli prefer anaerobic conditions i also read they do reproduce and keep on working in aerobic conditions too, so i was curious and seeing that i had almost zero smelling tea with oat flour, stinging nettles and kelp extract in it, i think they did their job.

Pics under better lights. Grow lights are really inaccurate for photography.
NL
Dinachem
NL has 15-20 days to go according to the breeder, dinachem has even more to go.

So are flashes too, but it’s a better kind of inaccuracy :D

I think they are coming along nicely. This is NL (no flash, 20w led hanging from the ceiling), Dinachem is progressing well too.
NL is 18” tall and top 12-14 inches are buds, when and if it fills a bit more it will be perfect. Dinachem is 4 inches shorter than NL but it has 12 inches covered in buds too, it has a longer flowering period than the NL so it hasn’t fatten up as much as NL but it’s internodes are all covered with buds, no empty spaces almost. So i can safely say these strains do well with manifolding, even from a newbie like me whom had implemented this technique for the first time :)

I think I see a spot with no trichomes.

Lol, just kidding looks great! 12+ inch buds rule! I hardly want to grow any little buds anymore. Lots of work trimming for possibly a bit more overall, but not as consistent quality. Nice!

Thanks man. Yeah popcorns are the worst to trim, so much work for so little gain :) I hadn’t lollipopped only in my first grow and ended up with couple of popcorns, i had lst’ed tho so some good nugs too :) i think it’s going well seeing its my 3rd grow :D the other ones were good too, tho newbie mistakes was there like not being able to foresee a deficiency, or stressing them a bit much and so on, this grow i am much more in control of myself in not letting myself near my plants :D seriously tho there is nothing worse then over correcting.

Sad sad news. 2 strips of my leds have burned out, so it is now a 160w led. I have been using it for 1.5 year and it still has its warranty but it would take too much time to send it back and i don’t want to lose that kind of time this late in flowering. This shit is devastating. I had my old blurple about 80 watts from the wall, i threw that in. Also i have 2 led floodlights for outdoor lighting, you know, for buildings or what not, i will throw those in there too, it will be an experiment as always :) they are daylight 80cri, don’t know the brand of the chips or anything but we will see if it works.

Thanks man, we will see. I mean two floodlights total 400watts but the spectrum is questionable.

Whats up dudes and dudettes, as i shared with you, i lost the half of my leds recently, just 2-3 weeks from the harvest, which was devastating.
Now i am taking on a real diy challenge. I am going to build my own light fixture.
I bought 6 pcb led boards. I cant get “quantum boards” in my country but these pcbs work on the same principal. Only difference is qbs have high power samsung diodes and the ones i got have 48 high powered cree diodes on each board and each pcb theoratically gives out 6.500 lumens with 1400ma driver.
Now i have 4 of these at 3000K (i checked out the datasheet and the spectrum looks good) also have 2 other boards with 98 samsung mid power leds each at 4000K which runs at 110 watts each. So i am going to throw these together and make a light from these 6 boards. Its not going to be fancy or anything because i don’t have experience working with electricity. So safety first and cosmetics second. I will keep you updated.

For now here they are (i mixed up which ones are of NL and of Dinachem, but they look good to me :))

Hell i am tired as fuck i have been assembling my fixture for the last 7 hours :) and it is almost done, just a little tweak at the end, i decided to go with 1x170 watt cob 2700K and 2x100 watt 3000K, instead of 4000K pcb which runs at 120 watts. I will run the 170 watts at 150 watts or so and 2x100 will run at 100 watts each. Will post some pics when i am done. My light meter reads 31000 lux or 3000 fc at the canopy for now with 4 pcbs running at 240 watts total, once i add those cobs it will get insteresting.

I took a second reading now it actually fluctuates between 31000 lux and 36000 lux at the canopy. Anyway thats a good amount of light i think for 240 watts. And spectrum is so much better than hps or mh, i think even this would suffice for my 2 plants :) but i am looking to grow 4 next time so i will add those cobs, they have separate connectors so i will not run them through veg only in flowering, also 2700K not good for veg :). I am suprised that i didn’t electrocute myself :D

I added one 170 watts cob running at 100 watts give or take. After i added that i took another reading and the light distrubition at 16 inches is as this, it starts at 30K lux on the top of the farthest cola of the nl, in the middle it gets to 55K lux, and moves back down to 28K lux on the farthest cola of the dinachem. If i hang it higher the distrubition will be better i am sure but i choose to tinker with it after my current grow ends, i have been stressing my plants a lot these couple of days with the light work.
I haven’t added the 2 100 watts as this is running pretty good as it is at the moment. 330-40watts from the wall and supplying 55K in the middle and 30K on the farthest sides with a good spectrum.
I want to make a detailed light distribution map when this grow ends and according to that map i may add those 2 cobs, but i don’t think i will need it.

This photo is not at 16” more like 20”. I was still tinkering with the wiring and the height when i took it.

This is at 16 inches, i think this will have a good minimum 25K+ light print of 3x3 -i am not sure on this but my light is hanging on the back of the tent and when i took readings from the front part of the tent i am getting 15K and this distance is almost 3 feet, if i hang it in the middle it will have a bigger light print and that 15K will go up to 25K+ i think- it moves up to 57K in the middle and it is enough for me to grow 4 plants, i have a 80x80cm tray that i can fit 4x5 gallon smart pots comfortably. Well we will see next grow.
By the way something weird happened today, i have been restricting water from my nl and been watering every 3 days for a week or so, tonight was watering day and when i came home, i saw that it was wilting like crazy and this was a suprise to me, i had never seen this plant wilt like that it maybe because of the new light i am not sure, i took temp reading with an laser thermometer and the top of the tops are at 28 degrees C which is normal.
I think they liked the new spectrum.

This is from the lowest part of the NL. I took it to see if its done or not. Trichomes looks good and milky with amber tho still there are clear ones. Also almost half of the pistils are still white so i am torn. Well anyway it is so dense i can’t even squeeze it with my fingers, its like a freaking pebble :)

I was a little disapointed when the branches haven’t filled up all the way but after the squeeze i can understand why, also explains my branches bending like crazy. Also that light failure probably contributed to the situation. Anyway i am happy with what i ended up with.
