1st Grow... 20kW Coco Day 53 Flowering

This is my first grow and my first post. I want to thank all of the posters who answer all of my questions day and night without even knowing it. To you all, I am most grateful. If it weren't for you guys and the guys at my local hydro store, there is no way I could pull this off.

6 week veg from 1ft tall clones

and a few others

I am blessed to get this far. Ive had problems with spider mites, plants falling over, plants growing into the lights, hermaphrodites, electrical issues, and lots of rookie mistakes. These plants have been stressed so much, I wonder what they would look now if they would have had a perfect life:

for lack of a better term, im using the clusterfuck layout.
i have 20 bare bulbs hanging down in between the plants (which are on wheeled stands). for the longest time i was moving them daily to get them away from the bulbs. most of them grew into the bulbs and i know this stressed them out. after i ran out of space i doubled up some of the bulbs and i switched out a few to have some MH bulbs in the mix. a few of the big plants are surrounded by 6 bulbs. next grow i would like to have neat rows and try to save some space to walk around...

i dont know, i only have one plant and it was a freebie given to me with my clone order. the spider mites are going to town on that plant, what a battle thats been :(

When did the hermis show up?

hermies showed up at days 38-40, a few days after i added "top booster" to my feed schedule, coincidence or not. within a few days time, all of my og madman, fire og and the Chemdog sister were showing stamen growing up out of the calyxes. ive been spraying them with dutch master reverse every 7 days. who knows if its helping or not, but i dont see any seeds popping out yet. here are a few pics from those horrible, depressing days:

Should end up sellable aslong as you cut before they develop into big green seeds, the little mini developing ones shrink to nothing after you dry, but the bud does end up fluffier than normal.

Wow Way to jump in head first in the deep end! SINK or SWIM its been one hell of a ride I can tell already. You hit the learning curve hardcore.........respect for such and undertaking....:ninja

May want to foliar lightly w DM Reverse and Saturator just to stop seed production... Hermies are the dark secret most new cali seed companies.. They need to do more backcrosses and stabilize their genetics before releasing them. Instead they do one off shots and sell the seeds... No doubbt there are good genetics in the packs but they are hit and miss with no solid lean toward either parent and littered with hermies. Not only that many choose their parent phenos from a single pack of seeds or a single seed.. IMO a company i would want to buy seeds from selection should consist of MINIMUM 100 plants... Pros 500+ each parent.. then the backcrosses begin. not this one off quick shot w clone only elites and a good male... Good solid gentics in seed form take years to stabilize.. DNA is one of the newer seed companies that have seen the light of good selection...

Day 76. OG Madmen are throwing Mad Nanners.

Groups of 5-7 stamen are appearing. I have opened some calyxes, and I'm seeing ovules starting to change color from green to gray. I suspect the beginning of seed production. Trichomes are just barely turning amber. They smell strong, like diesel fuel. Harvest begins...

i think thats about to happen now so im cutting all the og's. all of the madmen are shooting stamen daily and some ovules are changing color. my plant with the most big fat dense stinky buds (fire og) is just now starting to throw a nanner here and there which is making me nervous. it's just starting to show a few deep amber trichomes too so im harvesting.

waylon congrats man and don't linger on what the grow would look like if perfect because your new and human! we all keep learning about the magical plant you will keep improving but the best part is you have learned SOOOOO much being hands on this first run and you now know how to identify and resolve so many problems that every run can only get better and from the looks of things you should recoup your investment this run! sometimes we just have to build the plane while were flying it!

You speaketh the truth my friend... Probably explains why I couldnt find a bottle of Reverse around here to save my life. I called every hydro store in my area when I first had this problem in mid Sept. I had to drive all the way to a store in Santa Barbara to find some, and I got their last 10 bottles. I went through hell trying to find a trimmer too.

The fire OG totally stopped throwing nanners at around day 40 following reverse treatment, and only started to throw a few more a few days ago. The OG madmen never really stopped, but have started throwing them out in bunches the past few days. I was spraying them every 7 days with reverse. Next grow I will use the reverse as a preventive measure early in flowering and see if that helps.
