Anyone ever have a plant that grew with an absence of light?? They look like they are all the same color and consistency of a taproot. Had a bag of soil where I had thrown un germinated seeds and their potting soil back into the bag. It was in a closet with a light set up tucked next to a water heater bag pinch rolled shut. Well one day I went into the bag and found a little plant growing to its third set of leaves.
It died when I tried to expose it to light, but I was surprised by how much it grew in the dark. I guess a little bit of light was getting through the bag and the warm moist soil must’ve helped it get going.

I have my pot/container purchase for the contest narrowed down to 3 different options but want to clarify a rule before buying one of them.
Did we decide that because of the difference between a gallon in the US vs Europe that we are doing a 4.5 liter max size?

I’m hoping for 4.5 litres max as I’ve got air pots that size I wanna try

Depending on when this things starts, I may or may not be participating bc it’s looking like I’m gonna get run the fuck over by a hurricane soon.
I’ll be out of pocket a few days the grow will be on generator throttled all the way back, so I’m tentative my friends.

I see some people wanna do smaller, I think what we’ll do is, if you wanna show off your solo cup skill, all pots from EU 4.5 liter pots and smaller will be accepted as pot sizes, only limit is the 4.5 liter or less so all can be involved

When I do my microgreens I stack my treys 5 high with 15lbs of weight on top of them, they stay like that for 3 days, when you open them it’s all just white, within 24 hours of being exposed to the light they green up quick, pretty cool

First few pics about 12 hours apart each then the last pics by about day 10 and it’s about chop time

Yeah I did....I ordered a roll of mylar so I guess I'm going to have a new grow space lmfao. Could end up being an Auto veg space and my small tent I could use just for flower and grow perpetually.

That's what I just ordered, a 4.5 liter air pot. I've seen lots of people use them and I've wanted to try them so figured this competition would be a good test run!

Yeah, I’ve used them for chillis before and they did a good job. Also think they will be good for LST as you can use the holes to put your wires through

That's what I did. Put 8 wire hooks evenly spaced and got into plant BDSM

It seemed to me too much work for little payoff. I don't have many height restrictions so i really don't need to bend stems again but fiber pots are easy to use for that purpose

As long as it was only hooks and no chains I think you’re alright

Yeah that’s probably about what mine are I’ll have to check when I go home, whatever it is, that’s what I’m using.

Since each person will be using their own sized pot we’ll either have everyone list how many liters that their gallon pot is, I’m sure a lot of people will be watching this even though they aren’t in it, so it’ll help people see how different styles of growing in different pot sizes can be achieved

Also I figured this out when It took 30 of my “1 gallon” nursery pots to fill a 12 gallon grow bag not including the existing 3 gallon pot root ball

When manufacturers say 1 gallon pot they really mean #1, pic below shows minimum to maximum size per # pot it is.
So your 2.7 liter (0.7 gallons) is a #1 pot.

Has it been mentioned yet if we have to plant our seeds straight into the gallon pot?
