I top dress with craftblend. I usually run five plants and just scrog the crap out of it till I get a full canopy. I put so much in this soil. I think it was about 600 bucks just for all the ingredients in my soil.Luckily I have backyard access if I wanted to bring in large amounts I could walk it right in my back basement door, seems like it’d be fun to work on the soil, keeping it healthy etc
Do you basically run the whole run as the box is, or do you top dress depending on plant stage, or do you worry more about the overall soil health
I did 2-1/2 of sand and 3/4” rock. Then 5” of 2 parts top soil 1/2 part silt 1/2 part clay. Then 10” of top soil. The top soil I made was 1 part compost 1 part peat 1part pumice. Then I added about 50lbs of basalt 29 lbs of craft blend a shit time of charged bio char chicken scratch oyster shells micos imo2 mustard seed meal. It was a big job mixing all of it.Oh I was wondering how the layers work, I like the idea especially all organic, where did you pick up the actual medium container? The 4x4 box itself?
What are the layers made up of? Is the bottom completely sealed? Like no way for runoff to exit?
Sub category after things start getting dialed! @Deadstill The three item any item grow, within the one gallon challenge!Ok I think I'm just about set. Got an old gal pot.

Mixed up some dirt from the back yard with some mulch from the edge of my walkway, some left over mushroom compost from a friend, the chopped and dried carcass of my male plant, some fallen leaves, twigs, some left over humic acid, some left over Azomite, a little left over soil from last year that has an unknown amount of peat moss, coco, perlite, etc. and a couple tsp of Terp Tea Bloom. Some real quality soil here.Fill up my 1 gal pot and I'm good to go.

Slap a black plastic leaf bag over her at lights out. Call it a day.
Sprout a random 15-20 yr old seed and hope for a female......what could go wrong?
Hell yeah! Just threw the tester plant, the cman x okie into a 1 gallon pot! I’ll check dates shortly but getting the cloner ready I’m takin both of her lower nodes that have stretched out so she’ll be a bit light on the bottom but that’s ok we’ll see what kinda punch she’s packinOk I think I'm just about set. Got an old gal pot.

~beginning of next month sometime from what I
I'm so not ready, last minute I'll cobble it together
Ok folks maybe this will help us decide sprout / seedling / veg times then a flip date
Here’s the Cman x okie since she was put in water, June 1st soaked overnight put into soil June 2nd
4th of July pic was an up pot from 4” pot to 6” pot as well as topped
So from soak to today that’s 40 days so far
Left pic dates attached to easier see each stage and date
IMO June 21st would be end of seedling and start of veg, opinions anyone? That was be 21 days from soak, then veg time currently since then is 20 days of veg, so 3 weeks for sprout and seedling, then switch into veg currently at 21 days, do folks think that’s enough time? Before flipping to flower? I’d throw this girl in a 1 gal pot and toss her in the flower tent but I’m waiting to get a clone off her first then she’s going right in I’ll probably throw her in a Gaia green bucket for a week or 2 to let her stretch out some nodes then she’s movin
to be clear this veg time includes 1 topping at the 6th node I believe (then I strip the bottom node off to make bottom clearance from the soil, just part of my method)
Yeah I think we’ll let that slide lol, what’s the medium gunna be?I’m ready and waiting!
I’m gonna stick to an auto for this one as it’s all I’ve grown so far. Hopefully have some experience in photos by the time the next one comes around.
Using a 4.5l air pot but I’ve moved the bottom up a couple runs so it’s just under 4 litresView attachment 2226979
There’s a chance I might have to work away a couple times over the next few months so I’ve added moisture wicking thread to the bottom so I can put it on my auto pot @Mikedin is this within the rules?View attachment 2226983View attachment 2226981View attachment 2226982
