The auto flowers I've grown just don't have the potency I'm wanting. Regardless of what the label says I sure don't get the same effect as I do with photoperiods.
From what I’ve read once the cross the auto gene in aka ruderalis it has no choice but to weaken the strain
Pure Cannabis ruderalis does not get you high because it has very low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis
So if you take a strain Thats a photo can make 25% thc and cross it for auto it will become less potent
Just my 2 c

My opinion on Autoflowers…no thanks.

Simply not true. A F1 cross will be reduced but through selection they get just as high if not rivalling some of the triploid strains.

Thanks for the info. Sure seems to be true for my tastes.

I’m sure once they back cross it and stuff but in my book if you cut potency by crossing there’s a lot of work involved in getting all that back breading wise 🫶🏻🪴

Of course there is work involved. But it's not a matter of the autoflower gene per se. If you cross a photoperiod high THC cultivar to a high CBD you will have the same amount of work to get back to where you started. Mathematically it's derived as 6 generations to start getting back to @99% of P1.

Photosensitivity isn't the driving factor.

The biggest issue I see is stability and reproducibility and that's more about selection and the breeder than the autoflower gene itself as well.

My post with the 33% test result wasn't about how, why, should, could it's about it is happening and that's not a one off. Every top ten in 2026 AAC was 30%+ thc lab tested. In 2023, none were. So something sure is changing that landscape and quickly. My guess is better breeding and better understanding of the intrinsic short comings of the plants and doing better at growing them.

That tell me to be picky on breeders and genetic to get the good stuff
I’m sure there’s bad ass autoflowers out there I’ve never had one that impressed me yet except for how fast they flower
But I will run some indoors to see 🤩🤩
When I don’t have a yard full still lol

Those getting those numbers have their shit wired tight so I’ll never hit those kinda numbers. My shit isn’t wired that tight.
Yes, you got more than enough to f with for now.💚

So I hope you have something mechanical to move that plant other than your back...
She’s on a dolly/hand truck so not too hard. Once the leaves fall I’ll be able to put her in a spot that I won’t need to move her much but still close to the shop if I need to tuck her away for a bit. Right now two big oaks and a hickory cast too much shade there.

I'm not a numbers chaser. I prefer a low key euphoria but still artistic and functional and not a zombie. I can't say I have had old time Haze but I may have, I smoked a lot of shit back in the 70's and 80's. Some really good, some really bad. And I know for a fact I smoked everything Haze originated from. In 75 I met a guy named Hook (yeah that's why, he lost it in Nam) and he turned me on to some of the goldest, most sparkly shit I have ever seen I mean it was looking like a real gold nugget (going by memories from 50 years ago). 3 hits and I was in a laugh out with Jesus rapping about the cosmos and all it contained. Wild shit. Never had anything like it again (with weed), some got close though. That's the effect I liked.

I think I got to smoke some of that, back in 88/89. Too gooey to smoke in a joint, 3 hits from a bowl, forgot my name and zoned out. 😵‍💫
