Here, I just set up the light area since we too are in for a cloudy week or so. This is what I did late last summer. Primarily using sun, supplementing with lights. The are WAL-MART lights we got just for veggie seedlings and barley starts. Nothing pretty or extravagant.View attachment 2644247

When sunny or even partly sunny they go out or on the other side of the porch.

Hope it helps.View attachment 2644249View attachment 2644250View attachment 2644253

Thanks a lot. This is exactly what I'll do. Can I ask what length those are, and I'll go to Walmart tomorrow.

I think 24” Led grow light full spectrum on outside. Middle one is blue and red selectable.

For the autos I shoot for a total of sun plus the lights of 18 hours. When they are young they are sensitive to too much high sun. So I’ll put them in shade during peak sun or partial shade.

Look up DLI when you have time then once you understand what it is you can adjust your sun and LEDs to hit a good mark recommended for Autoflowers.

Mine is different. Very slow. Yours probably great! Never went that route. Bet if added to mine would improve mine!

I'd prefer to grow in ground with a regular photoperiod like I did last year with Durban Poison. I was somewhat satisfied with how it turned out, but my Ohio weather sucked all summer, and it was not a fun experience when fall showed up. I was thinking a better option for me would be autos or the fast version. According to available info, I should be able to complete a grow of Big Bud Fast Version between Jun 1st and Oct 1st, roughly. Which for me would be great. If my autos fail, that's my only hope this year.

Thanks for that autos tip. I tried two already in solo cups. They sprouted, but growth quickly stunted (don't know why) and when I eventually tried to put in 5 gal pot, they fell apart completely. So I'm trying again with them from start to finish in the 5 gal pot. Then the sun vanished and that's what brought me here this morning, looking for a miracle :D

Growing Durban, read so many great things and a special person said it would be the very best for me and my environment. I’m super happy with her. She’s the toughest plant I have. I did read someone thought the smoke was harsh. I’m vaping so should be ok. I’d grow her again anytime! It’s early though.
Wish the best in your new grow!

Seen such recipes and that looks good. I’d like to play with small amounts adding to mine in small loads. Test and then grow something.

I grow outdoors in Hawaii and depending upon your expectations, I can grow 3 to 4 crops per year. There’s a regular long season like I’ve got seedling started right now and those plants can finish whenever they want, but I also grow crops in October November, and this year some more in January the short season crops will only take 10 to 12 weeks to finish so I use that timeframe to make my crosses. For this past winter I used all landrace (plus my F2 thai) and these plants seem to have a wide variety of reactions to the lighting in terms of flower and unexpectedly so my short season is still going for some-so I’ve got plants in various stages right now.

First few pictures are a Burmese plant that I pollinated a couple branches of and harvested the plant but left the branches out to finish, while those branches were finishing the plant decided to re-veg so now it’s in full on reveg so I’m gonna get another season out of it, plus the seeds plus some clones.

Next is a Burmese clone that I made in January that’s just finishing up. It was crossed with a Pakistani x Chitrali cross, I have seeds from that crossing germinating now.

I had a teeny tiny 5 inch tall. Sudanese male that I collected enough pollen from to cross with my own F2 Thai strain. The Sudanese is reported to be a natural auto flower whereas it generally will just start flowering at 5 to 6 weeks and then is apparently a really fast finisher sativa so I crossed that into my F2 thai and that’s the next couple of pictures.. so true to form these started flowering right around 6 to 7 weeks and they look like they’re gonna finish fast. They’re probably shy of nine weeks right now.

And finally to Nepali, Highland three that are just now starting to flower at 16 weeks

Yeah, it’s fun to play with! When you’re dealing with large quantities of soil, you have to make your own! Can’t just replace the soil every year! At least I can’t! I don’t know about diesel! He grows a lot!

Looks like you’re still in the hemp business! Or have you moved on? Soil test are pretty much mandatory! At least you get a baseline to work from!

Mine is a year at least in the making now with two large, one small piles and a tumbler. My recipe on a group. Checking if here. Upload if not. Not for everyone. Year or more (but really just continues on forever) hard work and patience.
