If you have spare space in a tent, toss a little 32oz container in there - also use 32oz H202 containers. I usually get from 25-35g per cup. I do these coco hempy style with a hole at 2" and hydroton at the bottom. I veg for 4-5 weeks with clones.
The front plant was Mac N' Jack and put out 32g.
If I did a SoG with these in a 2x4x5 and assumed 25g per plant and wall to wall pack I could fit 50 cups I could theoretically get 44oz. But for the sake of having some space between the plants for air and light I'd limit it to 24-27 cups. I haven't done it yet because I didn't like the amount of time I had to spend tending a SoG with just 8 plants.
I wouldn't suggest doing these from seeds because it wouldn't maximize your investment as some seeds are pretty pricey.
As a stress test I skipped two waterings in 84F and 40%RH before they seemed like they'd be damaged beyond repair. They bounced back quickly but did suffer more than a larger container would.
