lol, your worried about heat now..... what are you gonna do once you start to veg and flower? what are you going to use to cool your room? hope you have a minisplit or portable ac unit, or box ac unit.

im still trying to dial in my 3x600hps flower room with my new 14k btu portable a/c. 79-86* for veg, 72-77* flower are my key temps I shoot for.

I know I'm new but the temp when I was running was between 80-85 so I'm guessing it will roughly the same. I have workes into the ducting to bring in cool air from the outside with an intake fan so I think that will help. Plus it's in my basement and the regular temp is 65 down there. The light just burned my babies. So I was curious how he was doing it

If your in a basement your still gonna need air or some air flow. You really don't wanna get much over that 85 degree mark. I know IRS not always feasible when your a new grower. I've ran without it but your gonna need to keep your eye on temps and vent the room whenever possible and it puts a drain on security also.
Grab a portable ac if you can will make life easier and you will recoup that 30o in no time

Good luck

Venting the room is not a problem at all

85 is NO good for flowering, as you want cooler temps. HPS lamps burn hotter than mh lamps. I grow in a basement type setting (underground commercial lot is my location). where are you exhausting your hot air from the hoods and tent heat? if dumping it back into the basement, then your ambient basement temps will go up 10+* daily.

you don't want to be at flip time, and running 90* in flower and kill your plants within a week. I researched for over a yr before I bought a single item (tent/bulb/ect).I think even trying to run a single 400w in flower, your gonna need to run a portable ac unit, even underground. I ran an 8k btu LG portable (300.00 iirc from Hdepot) and was great for a 4x4 with 1x600, then I ran a 5x10x7 with 2x600 with the same ac unit. now im in a 8x12x7 room with 3x600 and I now run a 14k btu portable. you can run the exhaust out the basement window (if you have a type that opens. just make a dryer duct type exit. then run a 6" 440cfm fan in the a/c exhaust ductwork wo help the exhaust exit the basement. if you don't have that external fan, you WILL burn out the a/c exhaust motor in the unit. I have mine on a speed controller at about 75% power. I also put some R6 value insulation sleeves on the entire exhaust duct work to keep the hot air trapped inside the jacket and ducting and not radiating out into the area. again, 6.50 for a 5' piece from Hdepot.

Well I'm not to that point yet still working on it as of right now I have a
5x5x7 room basement air (cool) coming in from the bottom and since I don't really have to have that room sealed all the way I left the top open to vent the heat I have two fans (basic) pushing the air out and up. The babies are only 3 inches tall right now. For a first time grow room I don't think it's a bad deal done on a budget ac unit that I probably will have to get at some point. The windows are open all the time so air gets in no problem. I think my problem later on will be humidity

humidity will be negated with an ac unit. my daily rh% in flower is barely over 50%. after a full room watering (14-16 5 gal pots), my humidity will barely rise to 60%. even if its pouring outside, my controlled grow environment is still stable as can be.

the 8k btu LG portable unit was a great unit. I bought the 5yr protection plan for it as well for peace of mind. mine usually gets repaired/recharged yearly after continuous 12/12 use day after day. my new 14k btu LG unit is even better, and I also bought the 5yr protection plan on it. shit, my 55" plasma I paid for the 5yr protection warranty as well. I like my warranty coverage if you cant tell.
