5 weeks into 12/12 and not liking it

i topped twice and LST'd them and i have lots of buds, but their small and don't really seem to have much trikes on them.
and by the looks of the pistils i may not have to much more time for the buds to bulk up.
is this normal for topping twice?
am i over thinking this topping hype?

Looks really nice! What’s the strain, have you grown it before? It’s hard to go in with an expectation of yield if you haven’t.

Idk man 5 weeks into 12/12, that matured very quickly, I'm just about done with my week 5 and no where close to as mature as those plants are. Good job on speed of flower. None of my grows have matured that quickly, you got any tips?

What I see is a few orange and a crap load of inner white pistils. You got plenty of time, she is just going to plump hard quick.

33 days in, I'm way behind on flower, she was a late bloomer, flipped her at day 34 took her a while to start to flower.

Yours look better then mine.

Just throwing this out here because I think it is relevant.

Yesterday morning before I posted here I noticed my plant didn’t drink much at all. I did it mainly to reduce some heat, but I turned my intensity down to 80 from 100. . I wake up this morning and she ate good about 1/2 gallon. I know they start to eat a little less nearer the end of flower. But my bud made a major move and fattened up…visually.

I looked up Bell Lighting as it seems to be what I just did. Let’s see what happens. I’ll drop intensity again a few days after week 7 or so until the end, to 60% intensity. Thankfully, I have a momma plant that did not go through light intensity changes that I can compare to and also another person to determine if it made any differences.

When going from veg to flower I inadvertently performed the beginning of the Bell Lighting as I forgot to increase the intensity and I backed it down from some stress but raised the lights. Then, bumped it up again. It’s possible that stress was just light distance as I didn’t experience that stress symptom every again and I managed my distance and measured it and adjusted daily afterward until she stopped growing up.

The picture looks more frosty than they are. I'm just not impressed with the size of the buds.
1st time for og kush so I guess I expected to much.

Them daily checks got the eyes seeing more than it is. The pictures tell the truth. No spurt. Just eyeballs seeing what they Want to see

I think it's still to early to tell the final bud size, bud growth sometimes comes in waves, week 5 is still very early in flower and it can throw out a bunch of blooms at any time. Those new blooms will just stack on top of those existing buds fattening everything up. Be patient your doing very good.

Then again maybe it just ripen up and be done with itty bitty buds.

If you were 70-90 days into flower I would start to worry, but at 35 days into flower I think you just need to give it time to do its thing.

Don't worry about the pistills bc you chop by your trichome, when you top you get more bud sites but they tend to be smaller, if your not at 12/12 that plant is an autoflower and you get less weed anyway but it looks ok to me.

Oh my bad you did cut your cycle to 12/12, give her time and again don't worry about the pistills chop by your trichome, and every time you top your bud sites get smaller but hopefully they will get nice and tight before she is done.

You probably havent bulked yet.

And im not trying to start a war here, but i dont think topping increases yield AT ALL.

But….. I do think that it increase the consistency of bud size and quality over the whole plant.

1 of the 4 girls is starting to show a mag deficiency coming up to 6 weeks in flower. OG kush is apparently a mag pig, so not a surprise as i've only added cal-mag once since the start.
their still showing low end of moist on the meter so i wasn't planning on watering until tomorrow or sunday.
gaia 2-8-4 has cal and mag in it but it takes about 1 week for it to break down into usable form for the roots and next feed isn't for 1 week, i have liquid cal-mag also.
question is, should i use the liquid now or wait and use 2-8-4?
i think i answered my own question, 2-8-4 will be 2 weeks and liquid will be fast.
