I just bought a standard one, but not a cheapy, sadly it's non adjustable, but i can easily fix that, just make sure you have it set to the right level which is easy.I'm so scared of adding a float valve. I really need to on both of my systems. I'm just dont know which ones are good, yet cheap. I imagine I'd need a metal one just incase. My floor is carpet and insulated. I gotta be extra careful. Any suggestions?
You want plastic nothing metal.I just bought a standard one, but not a cheapy, sadly it's non adjustable, but i can easily fix that, just make sure you have it set to the right level which is easy.
Dummy fit your net pot where you know it's going to sit, aim your valve around an inch below that and your good to go, it will keep every single bucket/tote at exactly the same level.
How you think i felt when i built mine, i was like "Fuck i hope this works"
It's easier than you think, once you've done it you'll be kicking yourself you didn't do it earlier.
I've noticed this system deals with higher water temps really well also, but i have massive aeration from the pump and a rapid cycle, so I'm getting away without a chiller for now which is great...but i want one soon.
I LOVE waterfalls, but sadly my pump doesn't have the power to push the water uphill and then fill the manifolds, so i had to remove them all and use airstones which personally i don't like...but running them in a tent is ok and i can't hear it which is great. Last time i used an air pump i was living in an apartment and yeah didn't sound good but i was trying to clone with one not grow, this is the very first time i have grown rdwc with airstones, but so far so good plants are happy AF.So this isn't really undercurrent. It's top feed. Most under current systems insert the water down below. My system top feeds and creates waterfalls, called Fallponics. They are pretty similar yet I feel top feeding would mix better and the waterfall adds surface agitation which helps raise 02 levels. My water column should have more consistent 02 levels than most systems imo.
Yea I was thinking about adding stones or something like that possibly to my res. Right now it just pumps to my waterfalls and has no airstones. The water looks stagnant but clear with no floating or sinking mass. I guess if I made it like my flower buckets or what you did it should do nothing but help. But I wonder about the higher o2 levels in the res promoting gunk build up since it gets light now and then when I open it. Idk if my thoughts are ass backwards or not. But I have no buildup lol, let alone want to crate it and push it to my roots. Perhaps I am crazy.. Let's all hope soWhen pump is full power...well you can see the air it has from all the movement, plants are loving it so she's pushing a lot of oxygen through the buckets.
Every 3-4 days i used stabilized oxygen also which is neutral pH.
I was gonna throw in a second scrog. But im just using extra silica instead. It looks to difficult to get in there lol.. I'll prolly regret it but trial and error. You would think one scrog would be enough lol..Looking good @Cashmeh
Watch out for the stretch of that GSC! Those girls have some legs!! Got a few in flower and I had to get creative to hold them down.
