8k+ SOG build out.

Here is what i have been working on since monday.

Getting the first half rolling, either 8k or 9k, looking like 9k in one half then the other half on a flop running another 8k, hopefully sooner than later...

dont think im gonna even blow the lights yet, its really cold here, got a window AC i can toss in the window if it gets too hot with lights on. probably going to be needing heaters for lights off. is a garage obviously not the best environment, but well get er dialed sooner than later lol. just need to get a run up and going.

36 plants per light. Gonna be running multiple strains. this is a collective grow, im on my own with only one other employee helping doing labor (doesnt know much about growing) and i have a fairly limited knowledge on growing. only have done is a hand full of times indoors and maybe a half dozen out. im only 22. pretty much everything i have learned i have learned here on the farm or from my own experiences so thank you all for getting me this far...

36 per light isnt a true SOG, at least not IMO or the way I have done SOG. But it is still alot of plants. You will need a decent mom system to support this, plus lots of time to lollipop and take clones.

8kw will generate alot of heat. What are the outside temps? You may want to consider aircooling the lights now, and just putting the fan on a controller where it will turn the fan on when it gets hot. How big of a window unit do you have?

got a lot of duff on that personal but the smoke is top notch!

strains i know for sure at this point are, Purple Snow, Cindy 99, Cali Mist, Soul Train, LSD, pure kush and hopefully some sour grape.

I have about 30 mature moms and another 25 growing up and getting topped right now. i have been growing this method for a run once before, but now im actually switching to soil beds. the outside temps are around 40. the room is 50 right now without any lights on on...

i actually have two window units. i believe one is 10k and another is 12k not sure though. and no i am not running CO2, just a few max/can fans for intake and exhaust.

im planning on running a flip/flop and just exchanging air between the rooms, at this point the lights will be vented im sure, then using the two window a/cs
for when it starts getting warm...

Here is the room i have been working with up to this point. 6kws using the 36 2 gal pot per tray method as mentioned before. kinda getting my feet wet with this room before i rented my own house lol. this room i have dialed though w/ co2 and all.

about a week from harvest on my second run with this room. (ignore the first two trays by the door, utopia haze and violator kush, didnt know much about em and tried em out, obviously not 60 dayers like everything else i run.

i have always run sealed rooms.

How are you going to bring in fresh air and run the AC at the same time? Do you just vent a few minutes every hour and you just loose the AC'ed air?

For now with outside temps like that, I would run one scrubber 24/7 recirculating the room for odor, and hook one up to an exhaust. Have a temp controller run the exhaust.

I have 4kw in a bedroom with 2 exterior walls. Today its 20 outside and 2 lights will keep the room at 70. when I turn on the other 2, I will need to vent the heat.

So plan on dealing with the heat. you already have 6kw so you should have an idea how much heat you will have

im gonna pull fresh air from outside when the outside temps will allow and run the AC in conjunction. im not worried much about odor... i think three of my neighbors are already growing. my direct neighbor is for sure. his place is wreaking up the block right now...

anyways, got the lights blown and burnin... decided to cut back to eight for light controller simplicity. had to move the lights around a little bit for the beds. my cords arent perfect now. oh well. lettin her run all night tonight see what the temps get like.

max temp is 87 with lights on all night and dehu's running. gonna need to toss my window AC in there, its just a lil 10k btu window. hopefully my intake will help the temps too once i get it up.

Looking good, bro - any idea what medium/method you're gonna be using? Drip or E&F? I'm testing out a mediumless E&F setup right now, it's kinda cool to be done with hydroton forever :)

Also, when I was in a garage and the temps got to the point where I didn't need to aircool my lights, I put the fan on a temp regulator (Cap DNP-1 or some name like that) so the fans would come on when temps got high and bring them down without using an AC.

Would help save some electric over your AC (if that's a worry for you).
