Oh and tell your neighbor it will finish around the end of November outdoors lol. Serious, it wont do well outside this far north.

Yeah I've always liked smoking GSC crosses, so I'm really pumped to give this one a shot.

He's got it in a pot, I'll tell him to figure out a light dep or an indoor setup by the summer. Thanks for the heads up!

It... may have been.

If some seeds happen to fall off of it, I'll let you know!

Tried the first bud of Moscow Blueberry today, and it's another delicious, tasty high. Feels like there's some CBD because it's pretty much an anxiety killer with that "time slowing" effect. It had light, herbaceous, lemony, floral tones with a bit of pine, but it's just barely cured so I'm sure there's more development coming terpene-wise.

Fuck it. Got up and took pictures. Moscow Blueberry.

HSO Gorilla Breath

Heavy Grapefruit

Snuck in and took a few pics of the flowering ladies.

Blue Dream

Three Blue Kings:

The two main colas of Triple Pakistan:

Blood Orange Sorbet

Here are the Uzi, Sannie's Jack, and misc. clones

The next round:

The three plants on the left are an example of the differences between indica and sativa-structured phenotypes of the Sinai.

In my ever-tinkering ways, I commandeered another cupboard for seedlings that I want to start under 12/12 until they start to show. Once they show, they'll either be planted in 1g pots for breeder males, planted in 3g pots for females, and the duds/runts/etc get culled. There are 8 of my Nepalma x Uzbekistan cross that I need to find a better name for, 4 Uzi F2, 2 Sannie's Jack, and 3 Sinai that have really perked up with the addition of more red light and shorter light schedule.

Here's the male closet. Silverfields on the left and Kurdish Kush on the right. More will join them, obviously.

To give y'all an idea of both the amount that I need to smoke and the general dried, cured yields per 3g pot so far.

Here's that last HSO Blue Dream plant, drying. With the temp/humidity sensor there I can keep an eye on things and adjust accordingly. Yeah, it's strung from knitting yarn, and yeah, I picked up the little man overboard.

And now the seedling arena! Cannabeizein Tree of Life BX2 on the left. I love that I can just copy the whole genetic history from their site, too.

(Trainwreck X The Purps) X [ (Trainwreck X The Purps) X (Headband X Jack The Ripper) ]

Looks cool at least.

Behind that are Sannie's Jack, Blueberry indica x Heribei (a freebie), Emerald Triangle's G13 x Blueberry Headband, and GH's Super Lemon Haze

Here are the Northern Afghan mix and Ukhrul.

The veg section, now with far more space for plants to breathe! Until it starts getting invaded by the females from the closet, that is. There's a NL auto there on the left just because.

And the flower room, after getting cleaned, sanitized, and rearranged again. Kubanskiy is in the back left corner, Triple Pakistan is the thick, gorgeous lady in front of her, @Dirtbag ... I mean Aqua Bag's Platinum Cookies is the line of green in the back middle. To the right of that is Serious Seeds' AK-47, 710's G13 Hashplant, and then Siberian Haze is in the lower left corner. The first flipped Sinai is front and center, with two Silverfields and a DNA Genetics Blood Orange Sorbet (in front of the Platinum Cookies) that has disturbingly large buds. Like I'm worried they'll break their branches. Yeah, it's a good problem to have. Yeah, I might have picked up more of their gear (Lemon OG Kush w/a Sour Sorbet freebie) because of that.

Next run is gonna have a bunch of lemon stuff! Humboldt's Lemon Citron, Vision Seeds Supreme Lemon, Greenbud Lemon Pie, and the aforementioned Lemon OG Kush. I'm generally trying to balance growing demanding, long-flowering sativas with more refined, faster, lower maintenance genetics. I don't mind waiting 16 weeks for an African sativa to finish as long as there are some 8-10 weekers around.

And for those of y'all that made it down this far, here's the first seed of Triple Pakistan x Nepalma. I also crossed it with Uzbekistan and the male Triple Pak plant that threw off obnoxious amounts of pollen. Not gonna lie, I think this is a pretty awesome pic.

Aww thanks guys! I just have good teachers here and relentless curiosity. It's actually been just about a year this week since I started growing the greatest herb.

Impact of N, P, K, and Humic Acid Supplementation on the Chemical Profile of Medical Cannabis

The various nutritional supplements tested (P, NPK, and HA) elicited distinct changes in cannabinoid content in the flowers as well as the inflorescence leaves (Figures 1, ,2).2). These effects were organ and compound specific. For example, while neither P nor NPK treatment altered THC or CBD levels in the flowers, they did in fact lower THC and CBD content in the inflorescence leaves. For example, THC in the inflorescence leaves was reduced by 16 and 19% by P and NPK supplementation, respectively (Figure 1A). The reverse effect was observed for CBG, where although neither P nor NPK treatments affected inflorescence leaf content, NPK did significantly increase CBG levels in flowers by 71% (Figure 1D). NPK lowered CBN levels in both flowers and inflorescence leaves by 38 and 36%, respectively (Figure 1C). Surprisingly, HA lowered THC, CBD, and CBG levels in both flowers and inflorescence leaves. This trend was also observed with the minor cannabinoids (Figure 2), where HA treatment significantly lowered the levels of THC-C1, THCV, CBC, CBL, CBT, and DHC1 in both flowers and inflorescence leaves.

Really interesting stuff here. Adding too much P and K during flowering decreases most cannabinoid levels, and adding humic acid during flowering decreases cannabinoids across the board (but does a lot of other good stuff in veg).

I'm starting to think of feeding/supplementing in four stages. Feel free to leave feedback or thoughts on this.
  • Germination- I've had great results adding a couple drops of a solution of IBA, kelp extract, and humic/fulvic acid to a germination medium of 50/50 EWC and dehydrated coco coir. HA increases chlorophyll production in seedlings. (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/prolas/71/4/article-p286.xml), the gibberellic acid helps with germination, and the IBA helps with rooting. EWC, as you'll see in the link, help with a number of things.
  • Vegetative- From node 1 to sexual maturity. I'm still tinkering with this stage, but preliminarily I'm thinking of using a base 4-4-4 and supplementing that depending on morphology/expression. Nitrogen is obviously important here, but I'm also concerned with making sure the essential micronutes are present and IPM is installed and working.
  • Sexual maturity (when the nodes stop being symmetrical) to end of stretch- When increased P will start signaling the buds, the hormones change, and nutritional needs are highest. Something along the lines of 4-8-4 with extra Mg, S, molasses or some similar sugary addition. Definitely looking for more info here on how to find optimal ratios and what to supplement with. Does the sugar content of fertigated nutrients directly correlate to brix in buds and therefore terpene content?
  • End of stretch to harvest- Back down to 4-4-4 with the additions of bacteria and enzymes to help break down the nutes bound to the coco in the mix, regulate pH, and minimize root stress.

Interesting, but we're learning more about the entourage effect and recently THC levels are not important but I'm a science junky and love this stuff.

I'm growing in coco with a simple 3 part dry nutrient, Masterblend. First couple weeks half strength, wks 3-5 2/3rds strength and rest of veg full. Come flip I up the base to 1 1/2 strength increasing an already high P & K and I cut the calcium & magnesium in half. Results have been outstanding and with the recent news on THC levels I'm growing for taste.

Yes! Flavor and smell are almost as important as the qualities of the high for me too. That's why I start adding sulfur both via fertigation and foliar in stage 3, and what prompted rinsing buds after chopping, which I will do 100% of the time from now on. Of course after seeing this, I'm not using HA on flowering plants.

I've been toying with the idea of using Gaia Green 4-4-4 nutes in the soil mix and switching to a low-salt complete fertilizer like Botanicare on top of that. I think the Mega Crop is really best for after sexual maturity, but I've had mixed results with it on smaller vegging plants.

More tinkering!

Moved a light from veg into the flower room and rearranged the lights in there. Also found a way to hang a fan in the doorway because it looks like temps are going to be a struggle this year. Using the state of the art "hang it from a chain" method, I can switch the fan around if needed!

So this is 620 watts (not counting the blurple that's maybe 40 watts) covering roughly 5'x6'. This also gives you an idea of the fucking massive Triple Pakistan buds just behind the left part of the door frame. That plant is almost flush with the back corner.

They're still recovering from the room hitting 85 degrees yesterday without the humidity to support it.

Platinum Cookies, trained into a T and recovering from a N deficiency.

A bud shot of Blood Orange Sorbet. She'll get cut in a couple weeks, most likely.

And one of the main colas of the Triple Pak. I'm guessing she'll come down around July 15.

Here's what I'm gonna be absorbing over the next few days- "Transport of Water and Solutes in Plants"

https://courses.lumenlearning.com/b...ter/transport-of-water-and-solutes-in-plants/

Gotta know how water works inside and around the plant and its environment to understand feeding and transpiration.

Gonna braise a pork belly in the next few days, so it's curing now. Salt, sugar, cumin, allspice, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, dried chipotle peppers, and black pepper.

Okay, so a few update-like things.

First, HSO's Three Blue Kings is a wonderful smoke. About 75% mental, 25% physical. Enhanced focus, euphoria, muscle relaxation, and no anxiety. Like, for those of you that have tripped and seen that each tiny action sets off a chain reaction of ultimately unknowable consequences and that the present moment is all that really exists (aka The Time Knife), this is the first strain that's flirted with that. Not quite like acid, but close.

Second, I'm all about the 3 stage bud washing. Three stages five seconds each, the first is either seltzer water or water with baking soda and vinegar added to it, the second is 120 degree water, and cold water in the final one. It's more than just getting any surface stuff off, the hot water actually will break the cell structure in the leaves and make the chlorophyll come out faster, which then makes the leaves dry both faster and more evenly. I've noticed much smoother, more even vaping over rinsing without hot water.

Third, Seeds of Africa's Sotho Heights are 0/24. It's a real bummer, but I'll live and do fun breeding things without it.

Fourth, my next round of seeds is going to all be lemon flavored and scented. So far it's gonna be fems of:
  • HSO's Lemon Citron (Lemon Tree x Geist OG)
  • DNA Genetics Lemon OG Kush
  • Vision Seeds Supreme Lemon
  • Greenbud Seeds Lemon Pie
Sannie's Jack is supposed to be very citrus/lemon dominant, so that'll likely be the male that pollinates these ladies. Although I've got some killer stuff coming down the line that could also get thrown at that. I actually just pollinated Kubanskiy Ubiyza with Silverfields today, I think that's going to be a fucking brain rocket.

Fifth, I'm really liking starting all of the regs off under 12/12 until they show sex and then repotting when needed. Weeds out the runts, saves on dirt, water, labor, and maintenance, and saves on space. Now I could sex like 60 plants in a closet if I ever needed to.

I don't know why I numbered that, but whatever.

The current seedling cupboard. Uzbekistan F2, Sannie's Jack, RSC Afghan Mix, USC Black Afghani, and Cannabezein's Tree of Life BX2. These are all regs, so many will be culled as needed.

The males! Silverfields in the back corner, Kurdish Kush in the back right, and two Sinai males.

Here's what's happening in veg (and with the auto in the back, haha). Two clones of HSO Blue Dream in the back, Siberian Haze starting to get some training, and a clone of Kubanskiy, because those are some strong-ass genetics with quick flowering for sativa effects. AK Kush is there on the left being a little bush. The two small plants not in containers are Sinai females that just barely differentiated. I'll let them go for a few more nodes in those containers and then repot.

Here's a better view of the training the Siberian Haze is getting. One of the 3 current free branches will just go straight up, the others will get tied to the other two stakes. There'll still be a month or so in veg for her.

The first picture of the flowering room, now with respectable shelving! The seedlings in there are all Uzbeknepanama. Yup, that's the name I'm going with. Mostly Uzbekistan, some Nepal, some Panama. This generation should be good, but F3's are where pheno hunting really starts.

Triple Pakistan is in the back, looking like a pair of clubs. Those genetics are absolutely ridiculous.

Here's the same picture, zoomed in. The super wispy sativa looking plants in the back are RSC Sinai. In front, about to get chopped, is Blood Orange Sorbet. There are also a couple Silverfields and a Motherlode Kush in there next to the enormous Kubanskiy.

Platinum GSC in the back, the first Siberian Haze in front of it, and G13's Double Black in the front on the upper shelf.

That Siberian Haze has blown up since last week. She really, really responds well to topping, pruning, and higher stress training. The four little clones on the right are taken from that plant a couple weeks ago and have already rooted. I'm still gonna keep her from flowering for another couple weeks and then train the branches to circle around the stakes and climb. It's essentially the same technique used in Greece to train grapevines. <-link there

The Sinai are bouncing back from underfeeding. First I went too heavy, then too light with the nutes for them.

Seedlings starting to take off,

And now some bud porn from Triple Pakistan. Still throwing out white pistils, each of those colas is over an inch and a half thick.

And lo, like sweet Delia at the Feast of Alvis, she is with child! Crossed with a TP male, Uzi, and Nepalma.

The structure on these Sinai plants (left rear and right front) is really unique. The leaves start off looking like these delicate, lacy sativa leaves and then grow into wider ones. The new growth on the topped one also shoots up so hard that it makes the rest of the leaves droop. That's what fooled me in veg and made me think I was overfeeding/overwatering.

And the latest pollen chuck, just getting started. Silverfields x Kubanskiy Ubiyza! That shit is gonna be like riding a missile bareback.

And @Dirtbag 's Platinum Cookies, recovering from not getting enough N for a couple weeks. These buds are already stupid thick!

Also, it didn't look pictureworthy when I took it down, but 710 Genetics' Hash 13 is a beautiful smoke. Absolutely fucking reeks of hot garbage juice and tire rubber with an energetic, relaxed high. My favorite of the hashplants I've run so far.
