Hi,
I've been reading cannabis forums for about five years now. Under a couple of different names, I've posted at ICmag, TSD, and Opengrow. Not trying to be trendy but THCfarmer seems to be the place to be right now.

I have a dozen plants from seed in advanced veg mode right now, I just culled a male. I'll let the dust settle (elsewhere) before I start posting photos.

About my avatar (from omg-facts.com):

"A certain sea slug, known as Elysia chlorotica, can actually photosynthesize just like plants. Scientists discovered the slug off the east coast of North America from Nova Scotia to Florida and describe it as looking like a leaf itself. With the ability to photosynthesize, this slug can use energy from light to convert carbon dioxide into sugars. During this process, they also create oxygen. Again, this is just like plants. The slug is green in coloring and about 3 centimeters long.

The slugs gain the ability to photosynthesize by eating algae and incorporating the plant’s chloroplast, which contain chlorophyll, into their own cells. Cells in the slugs’ digestive tubules take the chloroplasts from the algae and keep them there for long periods of time. The slug never has to eat again.

It can complete its entire life cycle (about nine or ten months) by creating energy through photosynthesis. This includes reproducing. The slugs simply use the chloroplasts to keep creating chlorophyll and thus continue photosynthesizing."

Welcome to the farm! Thanks for the info on sea slugs. I had no idea they could photosynthesize. Neat

Nudibranchs! Hello, and welcome to the farm. It's easy breathin' here. :D

PButter, not all can, this species is unique in this ability. It's so... Cnidarian.

I'm geographically incorrect for my avatar. I'm in the Puget Sound area (Seattle).

Thanks for the replies.
I'll take this opportunity to publicly thank all the people who have made informative and helpful posts on cannabis sites. I gave up trying to give electrical advice when I was told Ohm's Law was just a matter of opinion.

Oh, you'll probably see me talking electricals. I'm not an electrician, though. If someone is being stubborn I give up easily.

Yeah, and I didn't have the patience to explain 240 split phase, empirical evidence, or the scientific method.

awsome info about your avatar. good choice and a lot of thought in that one.

and you're right about i equals e over r. that is after all why they call those things laws. i mean just like gravity, you can't argue with it. those with enough money and smarts can overcome it, but it is still there. you were right to give up on somebody who doesn't already understand the scientific method.

i am sorry to bump such an old thread, but you have given me a lot of good advice this last year or so i've been around and i was just diggin through your treasure chest for some goodies. i said in another thread somewhere i have adapted Andy Dufresne's quote into my own quote.

"Get busy learning, or get busy dying"- the mekannic. i am sure you know the original.

i just wanted to say thanks and i learned something today. (another quote i can't remember verbatim or give credit but....."what i do today had better be important because i am paying a day of my life for it, so what i do had better be worth a day of my life" relates in a way. i succeeded in not wasting a day of my life on nothing, i learned something and that was worth waking up for).

thank you Seaslug. i bet you're an awesome dude to hang out with in the real world.

Great first post, very cool and informative.
I imagine in the future we can adapt this wonderful slugs cellular ability to incorporate cloroplast and use it to enhance our own DNA , thus rendering us capable of sustaining ourselves on a few shots of algae every decade, and lots of time reclining at the beach.

Welcome to the farm.
Peace
