WOW. Accident! the patio umbrella got swept away and fell on my poor plant that I've been growing for 4 months... breaks my heart! it split down the topping divide, but part of it is still attached to the stem. I've very firmly bandaged it together... but will it survive? I've heard they can be pretty resilient... any other tips you can give me?

That should do the trick! I broke a main branch off one of mine and fixed it with scotch tape. Will have to take the tape off after harvest.

One thing that I am not sure of is that tape. If that were mine I would try something that is stretchable and breathable for that much area of stem that is under tape, like some of that stretchy bandage material that comes in a roll. Just a suggestion, you may not be able to safely get that electrical tape? off.

It will be fine as you did. Just leave it alone now and let it heal.

oh.... thank you for the encouragement! fingers crossed. First time grower, so after 4 months of being relatively accident free, this came as a surprise. I'm just going into flowering and changing the light schedule though... would that be a problem? maybe leave it vegetating? well actually i am on a 14/10 schedule (following natural cycle in the area) but was going to change to 12/12 as soon as my blackout curtain arrives hah. how long would something like this take?

Just keep an eye on it, don’t touch. If it looks like no worse for wear in a week keep on with your grow plan.

"Freezeland" is correct. Better give it a week, maybe two, before flipping to 12/12. You did a good job splinting it together, but that was one Motha of a break! When flowering gets underway, keep an eye on the tape job and be ready to prop it up (support it) if the buds grow large....an extra Yo Yo or two, just to support that, would be the very thing.

[Edit: Oops my bad... I see it's outdoors. OK, a couple of Bamboo sticks for support...]

I like the rip apart medical style tape for quick fixes on breaks. The clear stuff

When we were kids, we used, staples and glue. Now as a grown man, I am fully aware that's it's not fixed until there is some Duct Tape applied somewhere.

I'm pretty sure the infrastructure bill being negotiated in Congress includes $20 billion for duct tape.

Thanks! any easy fix for this one? I've been trying organic - but do have the fox farm veggie and flower nutrients, and started giving a light feed (half recommended). hopefully that would help?
