Uh right so these reds can blow? Quicker? You can just add some supplemental red boards (cheap) and not replace your 3000k light. I have flowered with a 3000k HLG 200 V1 without any additional red and all was good.
Got it thanksI don't think you are understanding lol.

Anywhere from 2000k to like 7000k will both flower and veg your plant just fine.
Light that is more red (lower in the Kelvin scale) is more suited to flower because they promote dense growth with tight node spacing and more foliage.
Light that is more blue (higher in the kelvin scale) is more suited to veg (for some people) because it promotes faster vertical growth, further node spacing with less foliage.
sry I never should of got involved :( I got him confused...I don't think you are understanding lol.

if you can't get ahold of BC.. You should talk to Buzz.... :)Ye your fault ;)
This is what made me buy the white light no reds if right it is good.ides, hot fully reds want make.much difference, along as this all.white light blows my HP's at even same results. I'll be happy and 100watt saving :)When you add more red, you are effectively lowering your Kelvin, to 2900 or 2700k
But if an lm301b puts out 4x the light of a red led for the same wattage, you are blowing your wattage on red LEDs when you can get 4x the efficiency by using the lm301b's.
Then there is the red LEDs not lasting as long.... red lights burning out well before the lm301b's are even half done.
That's why supplemental light is perfect. If you want more red or blue.

Interesting that you say that. Almost feels like some red helps build roots.
I never really saw a major difference between 7000k,6400k,4000k.
vertical growth wise. 7000k does get alot of super healthy looking growth up top. Thats about all.
But notice the roots really really take off under the 4k light.
