those jiffy pellets are nice at times but if you don't have enough heat to dry them out they will work against you by keeping the roots too wet..and since you're just starting out there is hours and hours of interesting knowledgeable reading material in this forum... One suggestion I can give you that I do myself when I have use those jiffy pots in the past is when my plants get to about where yours are, I would put them in a small pot as small as possible with the plant in The middle and instead of soil fill the pot up with vermiculite and perlite and maybe a few pinches of soil to absorb some moisture and retain it although the vermiculite will do that for you. And then when it comes to watering do not water the jiffy pot itself just water the perimeter until the roots takeover The entire pot... It's really quite simple we will save you from getting yellow leaves. Jiffy pots absorb a lot of moisture and are slow to lose it. But don't let that stop you from using them I still use them myself occasionally.My sproutlings are 2 days old. Took 48 hours to germinate seeds, and they sprouted in jiffy pellets overnight. Humidity stays between 45-50% and temp stays between 76-82. It's my first grow and it's on a budget, does anyone have advice or recommendations for a new grower? I don't have vermiculite, I do have perlite and ph balanced soil. Would that work? Or yea you can transplant into pots soon , just be gentle and do not overwater, do not overwater.......I don't have vermiculite, I do have perlite and ph balanced soil. Would that work? Just learn something new, I wasn't aware that the heat issues could cause a stretch... I thought that was primarily caused from the light being too far and that in itself answered a question from my last growI like it
Also , you might find them stretching in a week , and you are going to freak out , so if i can borrow foutwenty idea anf make a hybrid f1 idea( first idea)
You can do what foutwenty said , put the seedlings halfway in the cup , in the plug , and when it starts to stretch to like 4 inches and you have to manage it , you can then , just dump promix etc in the cup , filling it up and making a nice comfy soil fill up for your stretchy seedling , in effect burying 2 or 3 inchrs so the seedling is deeper in medium again and now is back to two inches tall
Of course thats only necessary if things go haywire , like heat issues that cause the plant to stretch or light issues thst cause the seedling to stretch , hopefully you wont have those stretch issues , but normally there are beginner seedling issues.....
You will see , but they look good for now
If you put in solo cup make sure you punch holes in the bottom , my favorite method is take a crappy fork , metal , that you can heat up on the stove flame and tap the bottom of the solo plastic cup ,very effective and fun

Well I'm growing in soil indoors and I'm pretty new to growing anything past the seedling stage indoors... So naturally I put a heater in my grow room along with the fan to dry the soil out a little faster... And my last grow was almost identical to my current grow except the plant got almost twice as tall last time. During my last grow I tried to let the room get into the low 90s at least for an hour a day, just to keep the water evaporation going...my thinking is the more times I get to water it the more nutrients the plant would get... This time around my target is 87° for a high temp.....urgha...
