I got a couple oz,s from a 1/2 gallon bag of trim.Hey guys so I intent todo a dry Ice hash making process but a bomb has just hit me .... is dry trim and dry buds ok for this process with dry ice? Or does it need to be fresh bud and trim ?? I keep reading so many different things I just don’t know what’s right and I don’t want to risk spending a lot of money of dry Ice all through not having the right trim, Tia guys x
Hey nick thanks for your reply I’ve watched a few videos that mention putting in the freezer. Would you advise putting the dry trim in the freezer before doing the the dry ice process? If that’s correct how long would you say it needs to be in there for? Sorry for the questions I’m a total newbie to hash makingand put that into freezer before

hey nick sorry for the late reply but it worked out really well!! i got some bags from bubble bag dude company. i used trim and a bit of bud but i was apeshit with sugar leafs only....didnt get no contamination, shook lightly didnt let it show any green was looking like sand got around 5oz. probably could of got alot more but i was kinda limited with dry ice, next time id certainly order more dry ice and use less shake in the bag i was putting around 3oz in at a time which i think was way to much and kind of a waste.... buttt overall it was good stuff worth having ago!how did it work out?

hey dex, im yet to upload a photo ill post in a few hours. i see why you say that but aslonng as your only using sugar leafs and dont shake for ages then there wont be any plant matter in there, i know someone that done it that didnt give a shit about there trim was probably more non sugar leafs than sugar leafs and his hash was like really dark and green + he shaked for 5/7mins i only shaked for 2 mins. I think using the wrong micro bags has something todo with plant matter too i used the finest bag in there and it was like fine blonde sandAnyone have pics of theirs?
I’ve heard nothing but bad about doing this mostly that it beats up the plant matter too bad maybe I just been around the wrong ppl?
mmm not sure about that, should keep the oil separate, least you know that should be good..I used dry ice and bubble bags, 45, 90, 120, with both fresh frozen and dry. In both cases I ended up with a nice looking collection of trichomes but one big fault. The would not roll, not enough sticky to make them hold their shape even when heating. I am blaming contamination as I think the CO2 may have allowed the weed to break up into small enough pieces to go through the mesh.
I ended up making some Green Dragon with an ounce of pure bud and 200 proof alcohol. I kept dropping the alcohol onto the collection and letting it dry. I rolled it up and now it holds its shape. Have not tried it yet as I wanted it to cure for at least a couple of months.

I was judging by color and stopping if I say any green. This stuff wouldn't bind together regardless of the mesh size I was using. I have just grown a plant that allows me to take a cured bud, bang it on a mirror, collect trichomes and roll it up into a stick ball. using dry ice is use the weed at room temp and remove all leaf material that you can and only shake up and down like 3,4,5 times that’s it., dry ice will break that material up quickly.

What is weird is, it was great smoke. Going to rehydrate about a pound of old weed and try some bubble. Thanks for the input.This happens when your purity is down. Or if your plant was harvested before heads was ripe.
I just posted a pic of some starting material in a thread I started yesterday on sifting. There you can see how the stalks of the trichome are even considered a contamination when working sift.
With water you can use the vortex you create to break trichomes off...then use the sprayer and bags to further sieve.
On screens people use cards or hands or brushes to work the contamination.
I don’t have the answer to doing better with dry ice but I would think shorter times period. Again tho your getting stalks etc with the trichome...you only want the heads.
