Hi all, first time grower here. I'm growing Island Sweet Skunk and I think I'm getting close to being able to harvest. I have some brown pistils... should I wait a bit longer?

Another question, I just gave it a bath of nitrogen and ammonium phosphate, should I wait a couple weeks to let it flush out more before harvesting?

Thanks!

Hello friend, from my observation, it looks like you still need at least 1-2 weeks before chopping, but that’s just me ! Hard to say fully without checking the trichomes and knowing the schedule.

Looks like you have a while to go. 3/4 weeks. Can’t be positive but I would back way off of nitrogen. You need less n and more pk right now.

Yeah after looking back at it, still like 3-4 weeks! In like two and a half weeks I would water only with water after that, no flush needed IMo

Definitely a good 3-4 weeks and no more grow blend nutes. Still needs nitrogen but no where the rate you needed 2 weeks ago. How much growth did you get on stretch? You may get lucky and just push a long stretch with your nute boost and just have another week on top of that 3-4 before harvest. Patience and consistency, no big swings in anything at this point

I'd say it needs another month.

Check the trichomes on the buds, not the leaves. You'll need magnification. A jeweler's loupe works well and doesn't cost as much as the microscope. Here's a chart.

You can’t necessarily go by the pistols. You should go by the trichomes and see exactly the ratio that you like. Amber, cloudy and clear. It makes a big difference. Once you figure that out is when you pick it.

An easy month to go, maybe more. I would not stop feeding, if you want, just cut back a bit. You'll know it's ready when almost all the pistils are red/brown and shriveled back in to the caylxes, (which have swelled up). The trichs should be all cloudy, the amount of amber is personal preference, more amber=more couch lock.

True, but they usually indicate when it's time to start checking trichomes on the buds.

Ight, so I'm about 3 weeks out from this initial post. On the top buds I have probably 20% amber trichomes. The lower buds have none.

Seems like I might be ready to pull the trigger?
