Hi guys,

A relatively impatient grasshopper here with a first grow. How long do you think this gal needs before I could harvest? 🤓 My noob guess would be 2 more weeks, max 3 weeks?

Thanks for any pointers!

How long ago did you flip to 12/12? If you can get a nice magnifying glass to look at the trichomes you should be able to tell when they are mostly cloudy or milky white. But none of the pistils have turned orange so you're looking at probably at least 3 weeks imo.

She's an auto, and (according to the package) should be ready in 9 weeks from seed to harvest. She's currently on the first day of week 7..

When a majority of trichomes and pistils are cloudy white and orange (correspondingly) then it's time to harvest. Your plant look beautiful btw. Great job. Leaves are look a little N rich (sugar leaves twisting, curling) but seriously looking amazing!

To tell if a plant is ready to be chopped involved a lot of patience. The sooner you chop the lighter rosin will be or hash will be when pressed. Some strains can be chopped a week early. Get a jewelers loupe with 30x and 60x magnification. When about 80% white hairs on your buds turn orange and red, then the spots where they come out of swell up is when you break out the loupe.

Then look at the actual bud sites. Not any leaves. Look for the little trichomes all over it. They’ll have liquid looking stalks with a ball at the end of it this is the Trichome head. When this is cloudy it is at its thc peak. When it turns amber the thc is degrading. When about 10% are amber and the rest are cloudy I chop. Some people wait longer. The longer you wait the more amber you’ll have and the more couch lock the bud will make you.
