Prepare for the stretch. Plants typically grow to as much as double or even triple their height after the light changes. That means they need nitrogen (or vegetation nutrients). After about two weeks, they stop that last vegetative growth and need flowering nutrients. I also like to make sure they've had a good dose of magnesium, as well.

The way I see post veg stretch and nutrients is a little different. Nitrogen will delay flowering and may prolong the stretch beyond week 3. Veg nutrients in the first week or two of stretch will cause those 100% size increases during the stretch. So if you went a massive tall stretched girl, yeah keep using veg nutrients in those first weeks. But if you want to control stretch and increase flowering, it is best to reduce nitrogen on the flip. I notice that the extra growth nutrients really cause the plant to stretch rediculous amounts. Especially if you bumped nutrients up within the last 3-4 days before the flip.

IMO: prolonged growth nutrients or increasing nitrogen before/upon the flip delayed flowering and prolonged the stretch every time for me.

These plants don’t fully switch to flowering if they don’t see some nitrogen reductions. Besides, if you hate trimming leaves upon harvest, you would pay heed to nitrogen reduction and not use as much in flower, including post veg stretch.

Epsom salts are great and all. But you need to make sure your calcium is in balance with that extra magnesium. Calcium and magnesium need to be in stringent proportions or you can cause unwanted deficiency signals from it. So use epsom salts it with caution imo.

I would only add epsom if I was giving calmag and my plants still show a leaf deficiency for magnesium.

If your soil is flourishing in the rhyzosphere then you shouldn’t need to worry about adding amino acids.
