But also may be a brand from this side of the world

LED Grow Light – Darwin Hydroponics

darwinhydroponics.com

I've been offered 2 of these bulbs, plus the connections, plus the inlet fan and filter that im gonna attach for 160$ NZD - around $108USD
if i was to buy the bulbs new, connections, fan etc it'd be at least $300usd
I know the fans a deal but not sure on the lights, seem low wattage for such an expensive bulb, but quickly learning that wattage means jackshit so maybe they're great?

thanks in advance for any advice

I have not heard of them, but I would be skeptical as those claims seem too good to be true. Most growers are trying to keep their lighting at around 30 - 35 watts a square foot.

I would look into proven forms of lighting unless someone has a compelling reason not to and can support it with facts.

The light bulbs seem like a ripoff at that price, I'm sure they would grow plants, but there has got to be a better option around (shop lights, flood lights, street lights, Amazon?) If you are going to run them, you can use a hack saw or something to remove the shell and expose the LEDs to get more photons to the plants.

cheers for that, makes a lot of sense, considering buying it just for the extras tbh, even that way im saving money. had another look and the fan and filter alone would be $270ish USD, i'd be saving almost 2 thirds heh

good idea!

The brand make waaaay better looking light panels, i have a feeling these are old tech,. maybe what the company started with, as cant really find many sites that still sell the bubls. might stick with panels and see if he'll sell the fan/filter by themselves, might get an even better deal :) thanks ya'll for your help!~

At the watts it seems like it would be ok for supplemental lighting only, but not at the price. You can get 75w clipon supplemental lights that do red/blue/white off of Amazon for $20-$30.
