isnt that odd, im wanting to get me some undercurrents...haha i think i jinx myself a few months ago... i seen everybody jumping the wagon and i normally build my shit...i told myself i would never get ha.... hahahaha now that im upgrading and want more easy shit no moving parts...that undercurrent is looking like a more viable option for sure. ill stop by

i blv Colorado enjoys the chitchat in his thread, i may be wrong no doubt, but judging from previous questions he has asked about the H & G line, im sure he doesnt mind as long as questions are being answered to that specific category. Besides...everybody can learn, no? :D

we'll tackle yer other problems in your thread, send me a link if i cant find it via my stoner haze im in right now..hehe

in reference to the Magic Green...i love the shit cuz it really is the shit! on some dear mr toilet, im teh shit type shit...lol

i use it for everything!!! when im scared to nute baby seedlings like babies...i just give em some magic green....use them on clones, i've actually removed my mothers from my nutrients thereby decreasing the hit, well fuck decreasing... lets say eliminating the dent that my mothers used to put in my nutrient consumption.... now i just foliar feed them magic green every week, and give them RO water..... however, they do get at least nutrients once a month.

Im toying with the idea of Algen extract for my mothers too, i just havent made the jump to purchase any

Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. I'm normally a DIY type myself - the first thing I said when I saw the UC was "Ooo, I can build one of *those*." And I'll say this: while yes, yes I *can* build one of those, it has to be asked whether that's how I really want to spend my time. There's a lot to be said for having the system plop down at your door, ready to assemble and fire up. Plus, the Under Current company has proved itself to be absolutely awesome - very, very supportive. Can't speak highly enough of their customer service. If you have the $$$, I'd definitely consider it.

Here's a link to that other thread, Mr. Haze. :D

You just foliar feed your mothers?! That's awesome! I'd like to hear more about it, elsewhere. Colorado, back to you. :itwasntme

Not disagreeing with you at all, but there may be something to be said about the composition of the tap water that varies by location.

my pipes are super rusty, thus RO

however....what i do is (mind you i do my res changes on sunday cuz of a new week...but for this step, i mix up the sat night before hand) pour a in first, let it cycle through my system... then pour in b and then i just let my system circulate over night, when i come the next morning its magically sitting around 5.7-5.8 no fucking bullshit...lol (yes with the plants still sitting in the system....and yes the pH was around 3.4 or so when i put in my base nutes a & b)

how do the plants feel about the 3.4 PH?

alright so it is time for me to top the rez off, it is marked at 38 gallons and looks like it has lost about 2 gallons. This was my top off procedure, is it correct or where is it incorrect rather cause i have been good at doing stuff wrong.

Filled a bucket with 1.5 gallons ro water mixed 16 ml of A in waited 15 min to mix and then mixed a half galon of water and 16 ml of B in it. So after word i am left with 2 gallons of 8 ml A+B/gal water. Is this an ok way to mix it or do yall just throw the B concentrate right in the mix after 15 min(read:no dilution)

then i went over to my rez which is 600 ppm and i added back RO water until it was at 520 ppm then i added the A+B water until it went back up to 550ppm, not wuite 38 gallons but the proper ppm. Is this bad procedure? I basically just need to be adjusting for the ppms not the total water volume correct?

thanks

i dont do all that extra shit.....i think nuted top off water is garbage and bullshit....

i just dont think we can accurately figure out what npk elements are left into the solution...

so in any case, i just add back plain RO water no nutes.

as far as your question about mixing...it really doesnt matter how long you wait to mix the two...just ensure proper circulation....whether that be vigorous stirring of nutrients or letting it run through your system....either or works

so if i only add back RO water the PPMs would drop to below what i wante them to be.... or do you only add back RO until you reach the desired PPM? so there is no my system must have X amount of gallons, rather it must just be this PPM

correct, your ppm/EC would drop below your current readings, let alone your initial readings...because you are diluting the nute soup more.

when i add the plain water back, i RARELY meter the difference....

'sides when top off occurs/or is needed its normally at the end of the week....sometimes if my pump is humming (the one that supplies my controller bucket) that is indicative of needing a top off....but if that occurs on saturday i just say fuck it and wait til the next day to make fresh nutes.

i mean sure you arent getting back to those achieved ppm/EC that you started with....

but how exactly can we accurately figure out what npk the plant has used in that hydroponic solution?

so thas why i just add back plain RO water. so to answer your question.... there is no right or wrong way to do add back water as along as you know what you doing. (my disclaimer...dont want anybody thinking im trying to persuade you heaven forbid i give you another suggestion...just may get attacked again! yikes)

I'm running aqua flakes at 75% the recommended strength with all recommended additives from their nutrient calculator and great white added in a 40 gal res of ro water. first week and no substantial swing in fact i didn't adjust for the first few days. yesterday it was up to 6.2 and i knocked her back to 5.7.

i was running to schedule for 2 weeks of veg and first 3 weeks of flower then i ran into a calmag issue. i ran 5ml per gal of MagiCal and will continue to do so at 5/ml per gal and maybe up it to 10/ml per gal if needed until the end of this grow.

my ph has consistently rose .3-.4 per day since i started. i use RO'ed water that reads zero on my Bluelab Truncheon and reads 3 or 4 on my Sun leafs ppm meter but none of these pens can read that low.

i made a nutrient calculator for Aqua Flakes that offers much more info on the line then their crappy calculator:

FYI House and Garden has a Cal/Mag product coming out this year (or at least this year ot the states) along with a product called Trace Elements a product that looks like Shooting powder in Gel form and IDK about you guys but we just got Algen Extract in our area which may help.

i may run Aqua Flakes again and if i do i'll run Cal Mag of some sort at full strength from the start of flower on and will continue to also use Great White.

It is totally normal for ph to raise throughout the week....All this extra calculating and waiting....well....is not necessary and takes a lot of extra time.........No matter what line you are using...you don't have to wait....add everything in that will change your ph...all base nutes and additives except for enzymes and beneficial bacterias....then....Ph water....add enzymes and bennies(they won't change ph and can be killed when the acids are added raw beforehand)......then check ppms.......you should always use full strength additives and adjust the amount of base nutes to achieve the correct PPM.....when you check your rez......add base nutes to raise ppm @ 1 ml per gal until you reach adequate number.....or add water to lower them....You don't have to add diluted nute solutions......Here is an easy guide to safe PPM levels...Early veg. 200-400......Mid/Late Veg. 400-700....Early Flower....600-800....Mid Flower......700-900....Late Flower....800-1100.....
Some strains can take more...again this is a safe scale....push further at your own risk......Letting the ph slide from 5.5 up to 6.5 and back down is actually good for the plant....Elements are available differently at each 0.1 of ph so you get all the benefit from this good range between 5.5-6.5.........Hope this helps...Peace and good luck
