Aqua Man's first grow diary

So @PharmerBob I see you have topping working very well for you. Think I may give that a go next time as that scrog net while effective is a pain in my ass lol. Are you also tying em down?

Fim @Aqua Man it works exactly the same a topping with a fraction of the recovery time for your plants

To late but yeah I didn't think of that. Gonna be some stem rubbing and bending when I get home in order to tuck. Probably hack out a bit too

Ok last pic for 8 days. Kiddo is going to be looking after the plants so here is to hoping. I should be flipping today but that's not an option and I'm gonna have some work ahead of me when I get back from the island.

Which would you think is more stressful.

Cutting off part of the stem of your plant, or pinching off new leaf growth ?

Please don’t think I’m talking down to anyone, I love educating people but I don’t know how to do it without sounding like an asshole

Hence the new shoes @Srenots got me for Christmas

I did have a side by side somewhere showing the rate of growth/ recovery between two pretty identical plants.

Both in same hydro system , same tent, same strain, nutes etc etc.

I know not every plant is identical but the recovery and growth rate between the two was ridiculous.

The fimmed plant recovered and had new growth sprouting within 3 days

While the topped plant took a week to show new growth

By the time the topped plant had leaves and branches finally pushing out the fimmed plant was almost 6-8” taller and a substantial amount wider then its sister.

The topped plant took almost an additional 4-6 weeks in veg to reach the size of the fimmed plant

I do realize any experiment needs multiple times repeated to show actual data, but for me it only took the one time for me to change my methods

Do u ever get strands of string/rope in ur buds by using something like that?..I've always used braided Mason line and use a lighter to cut it does wonders....
Also if the screws are giving u issues like rubbing against them or squares not being tought all the way thru the net.or falling off the screw etc...Take the screws out and drill all the way thru the PVC and then put the net thru it and can be screw free..I used the roll of plant ties the thin ones I would take the plastic off and leave the wire and put the wire thru the Mason line and put it thru the holes nice n easy

The string is just wrapped around the screws Never an issue being tight. No issues with buds from the fibers all the buds are above. Can switch but don't see a point. Could drill holes but probably take longer to string.

Just a thought for the future like wen u need to replace it and not all the buds will be above it and they can still shed from stems and others rubbing on them but if u don't have fibers in ur buds then keep using it...And ya it may take a few more min to put the net thru the frame can also save a lot of issues if u have them...I also have a double adjustable scrog and dreads and they would get caught in the screws all the time and was annoying as shit too as u can imagine......
