Hi everyone!

My plants had a rough start but are recovering well now; I’m afraid, though, it might be too late.

The Amnesia Jelly Auto plants from Sensiseeds are growing outdoors in North Rhine-Westphalia Germany; they were sown on April 25 and saw the sun for the first time on April 29. Unfortunately, that was followed by over two weeks of rain, thick clouds, and temperatures between 10–18°C (daytime) and 5–10°C (nighttime). They’re in 12-liter Fabric pots with Bio Bizz Light mix.

At first, growth was veeeery slow. Since the sun started shining on Friday, they’ve shot up massively. I’m attaching two sets of photos (one before and one after the current growth spurt). The first ones are from last Friday, the last ones are from this morning (May 26—about day 27).

I’d appreciate it if you could give me your opinion on whether they still have potential. I’m really torn between “They’re just too small” and “The latest growth spurt gives me hope.” I don’t see any signs of flowering yet.

I think you misunderstand what flowering is & when it’s supposed to happen.
Your in veg stage just out of seedling stage
Flowering takes place once a plant is mature & the lights change to allow 12hrs of darkness.
You don’t want a small plant flowering otherwise it wouldn’t produce much.
Most will veg for at least four weeks before changing the lights change to 12/12.
Even if you stuck it under 12/12 now it would take about 4 weeks till the plant was mature enough to start flowering
I don’t suggest putting a small plant straight into 12/12 unless it was a sativa landrace allbeit some do its best to kiss atm.
Keep the lights on 18 on & 6 hrs off & veg the plant till it’s big enough to put into flower.
If your outside witch you might be the plant won’t flower till the lights change to allow 12hrs of darkness
The plants actually look ok.
They do look like they had a hard start yes but there looking good & the new growth looks fine.
I do believe you have been overwatering hence the slow growth.
Are you growing outside or inside
If your growing inside how close is the light ( it maybe to close ) and what’s the humidity

Hi there! First of all thank you a lot for the detailed answer.
So they are autos, which as far as I know means they might very well start flowering soon. Even though I totally agree with your statement, that I do not want them to flower yet. I would love to have another 2 weeks of veg.
I am growing outdoors, which as I said brought me some trouble early on (cold nights, bad light). Now they have nice sun since friday and are catching up nicely. However end of the week weather is said to be bad again...

hi
Even automatics need to be mature before flowering.
It’s a shame they are that as you won’t have long left before it does start flowering.

These breeders need a kick up the ass with there automatics are beginner friendly droll they are not at all.
One mistake and your yield ends up being naff
Even experienced growers can have problems with autos.
Photo periods are much more friendly
However if you’re outside & can’t control the dark/light period then I can understand why you might pick one.
Still they aren’t beginner friendly.

Oh well nice to meet you bud
Hope it ends up good for you

Ah ok, I see, thank you!

Yeah I really think next time I am going to get photoperiodic ones.
However what you say gives me a little bit hope. They have doubled in size in the last 3 days and we have another sunny period at least until end of the week. And if flowering also at least to some point depends on maturity than maybe they have some more time left. I am hoping to top at least 20g per plant... =D

Many thanks man! Best regards
