I’m looking for a mix between the 2 sources. THC and CBD pain killer and healing all in one.Not sure about where you come from, but at the very least CBD products for dogs are a proper thing now if your locality/legality would allow it. I don't know how you'd go about figuring out dosages and stuff if you were to try and do something more DIY. Personally I'd avoid giving significant amounts of THC, as I wouldn't want to get my dog uncomfortably stoned since they wouldn't be able to communicate how much it effects them, but CBD should be fine. Really sorry to hear about your dog though, have had many dogs with arthritis/cancer through my life and watching them suffer is awful. I hope your pupper feels better soon
As far as I know, at least with commercial products they only seem to be CBD right now. CBD does provide some pain relief on it's own, but they do synergize as I'm sure you know. If it needs to have some THC in it, you may be best off getting a tincture made for people (avoiding anything with ingredients that may be harmful to dogs) and giving smaller doses for your dog. At least according to this source the 0.3% THC commonly found in most full spectrum CBD oils should be enough for dogs. They suggest a 20:1 CBD:THC ratio for canines. Also apparently THC can cause Ataxia which makes them lose some coordination according to here when given too much.I’m looking for a mix between the 2 sources. I can share what i made for my mother in law for her arthritis(plus osteoporosis, both on her hands and fingers).I guess it counts for dogs hahaha It was RSO,diluted in hemp seed oil,she just massaged her hands with that few weeks. Now she swears by it?!. after that procedure, not only relieved but more like...cured.So may be could be real helpful in your situation if you massage the place with that stuff(you could also use olive oil,but i preferred all to be cannabis related+seed oil has its benefits as well). But you have to be carefull, your dog can eventually lick that,or another of your dogs!Never tried on dog for that exact purpose(but for other things- yes and it worked 100%) but i kinda believe it could be good. Also the doggy wont have to eat it and you-dosing it somehow, just applying on the skin gently? At least im sure it wont hurt.So I’ve got a 4 year old German Shepherd that was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia at 6 months.
We went a head and did the $5000 surgery.
Poor pup was locked up for the first year of his life for recovery.
He always walked with a limp after but pain free till recently.
The last 3 months he has progressively been getting worse. We have limited his running an active activity’s heavily.
He has been taking vet prescribed medication for inflammation for a couple years for his mobility.
I have been icing his elbow and shoulder ion the morning and night for the last few days.
I have made a appointment with a surgeon on Friday to take X-rays to medically address the issue if at all possible.
I guess my question here is if anyone has THC or CBD remedies for a dogs pain or just an outright cure I can make to help his condition.
I am totally capable and willing to do whatever it takes to help him continue with a pain free life.
Please help blu!
