I guess the generic answer would be "it depends on each plant". I'm guessing you have to eventually allow some stems to grow upward, but i'm not sure exactly when you're supposed to allow vertical growth.
ok cool thats why I said ask some others as I wasnt 100%I thought of that with my last grow and folks said that doing that with an autoflower is a bad idea because it stresses and slows the plant. I wouldn't know.

Yea light trim. And bigger autos in hydro. I don't know how any other media goes. But as long as you don't do enough to really shock em they are fine. Dinafem has some monsters that require me to top and trim because of space. I was growing in a 4x4x8 tent when I started with these Dina autos and they can easily get to big for more then one in a tent. I don't recommend heavy lollipop or anything but you can do some trimming. This plant isn't too bushy but you can see how empty she is underneathSo you trim your autos?
