Azamax or terp? Funny taste

Just tasted out a nug of lemon snow cone. It tastes like the smell of azamax or maybe motor oil mixed with lemon and orange zest. I haven't used any azamax on it except maybe when it was a seedling.

Is there a terpene that tastes like motor oil or azamax or can they genetically add the azamax into the seed?

The only way that I could have contaminated it is if me adding azamax to my small veg plants feed water in a tent next door with shared ventilation, somehow my veg plants aspirated the azamax and it attached to my flowering plant. I'm thinking more along the lines that this is just a really unique strain.

Wish I could help brother... I dont use any IPM as I have been pretty fortunate and cautious in my sealed room.

I have no idea what azamax would taste or smell like.

There are certainly terps with fuel scents, orange scents, lemon scents, general citrus scents… It is not inconceivable that this is natural.

I kind of find it difficult to believe using a product once during early veg would do this.

Hey Trips,

I have been pretty fortunate and have never had to treat bugs. Only thing I even have that would be in that class would be H2O2. So I have no experience at all. One of the benefits of hydro is that there is no place for them to burrow in and make a colony without bringing on their watery death.

I just harvested a tent that had both strong lemon and diesel, but I don't recall any motor oil scent ever. But I could totally see it, there are tons of (over 30,000) hydrocarbon based terps and I am sure I have only encountered a tiny fraction of them. Then when you put them together, who knows?

If you are worried, a lab test will tell you for sure.

Some breeder mentioned in an interview that all flavors imaginable should be possible with cannabis.

A Sour Betty in my room is smelling like I don't know what atm, burnt rubber, plastic, smelly feet ?

It's weird to say the least and will be interesting to taste cause I don't know if I really want to smoke anything smelling like that

The worse the description of the scent, the better it smells. Some of my favorites smelled like underarm sweat, fuel, feet, dirty diapers...

Okay, so it's definitely not azamax but it tastes very similar to the smell of it. She has a sister plant right next to her in the same tent, same strain different pheno and it smells and tastes nothing like the other one. I'm not sure if I like it or not. I wish I had somewhere that I could send it for testing to see if the weird taste is an insane amount of cbg or some other sought after rare chemical. @Moe.Red

Cannabinoids are pretty much odorless / tasteless. It would have to be a terp, flavonoid or something like that. Only way I know to get those numbers is a real lab with a mass spec type machine.

I suppose it could be some weird fungus too. Fermentation?
