So sorry brother... I hate when it is that time of year. I get them every once in a while and hate it. But we push through it. Wishing you a merry christmas and a happy new year.

I have had mites a few times over the yrs, last time I got em from Harborside. Worst 2spot mites I ever seen!! Azamax was a snack food, I tried Avid and it slowed em. Floromite same thing. I tried Forbid and bang! Gonner! My buddy was in a pinch and needed cuts so I gave him some and he sprayed with forbid and a combo of avid as well. Gonner!! Whenever I talk w a friend I recommend that combo and it works very well. You can scoop a small amount on ebay if its expensive where you are.

Thanks for your help on my post. Hope this can help you. Do not use it after 30 days into flower though!!

I sprayed some Cali borgs ...I lie......I DIPPED the plants in Floramite.

I shit you not.....organicide and neem were as effective.

These fuckin Steel Plated 4x4 Diesel Cali borgs have evolved into Storm Troopers. They laugh at Floramite.

I totally agree on using a one/two/three combo. I am trying it with SNS, Mighty Wash and Plant Protector. I want to find a less toxic combo that actually works.

FWIW...I always get a few mites this time of year. The food for them outsde goes away....its like mice I think. They are looking for good wintering.

They are gonna kick the cockroaches asses after the Apocolypse....

I am using Avid on them started Tuesday and sprayed again today. Due to the life cycle you need to spray at least 3 times to get them all. I do it every 5 to 7 days and than check under the microscope. Little bastards...

will keep you posted.

By the way Avid can be used up to a week before harvest and is safe for human consumption. It is toxic and can make you sick if it gets on you or you breath it in. Turn all fans off when using. I wear a Tyvek suit, respirator, hat, goggles and gloves when I use it. You can down load the WHIMS info on line here

http://www.syngentaprofessionalproducts.com/prodrender/index.aspx?prodid=733

Protect yourself when using any thing like this. And keep out of reach from anyone.

I see what you mean LOL, in Canada they took it off the restricted list about 2 years ago so anyone can buy it. It's dangerous to apply, but safe after a week hummmm got to wonder. I have been using it of and on for 11 years and is my first defense against them.

Week 7

Here the girls at 7 weeks, they all are doing well and other than the last two bumpy weeks have done real well, another 2 weeks to go. The new humidifier made a big difference things are 50 to 70%, real good. I still have work to do on getting the room dialed in. Having temperature swings, but just 5 to 10 degrees.

Woods,
On one of the threads regarding zone you said something kinda like... if it isnt foaming you add some more, and that you run it in at full strength before dropping the ladies. Zone is new to me.. I add it once a week. I add 1-2ml per gal directly to my rez in one shot. Also after a few days the foam stops. Should I be adding more often and to my top off nutes (REZ) as well? Guess I'm looking for additional tips that can help me. Or atleast safety practices that cant hurt.

thanks

I use it at 1ml per gallon when I start for conditioning the system, no plants in the water yet. You can put your plants in I just don't as I like to let things settle out before adding plants. Run for 24 to 48 hrs than add plants. Every week I add 1/2 the recommended = .5 ml per gal. This is based on DM and UC recommendations. You also need to know Zone application is also based on water temp, my use is based on the light strength recommendations because I run below 70 degrees. If you are above that double the amount and if you think you have root issues go to 2.5 ml per 5 gal.

As I am running a low concentration of Zone, if there is no foam I add more, based on the above. I do add every week regardless.

I don't add anything to my top off res it is just RO water. I see lots of guys mixing nutrients in the top off res but I don't do it, has worked out fine. I watch my Ph and PPM and add as needed direct to the res. It's called top loading, I think Desert Sq does this also.

I have not change the res out during the last 3 grows and all is going well, started by accident as I was out of town for long periods of time.

Thanks for the zone info, I am also curious.....
You do all daily/weekly feedings directly to your epicenter?

this being the case, you probably be adding quite a bit of food daily? you do this once or several times over the course of the day? Or week? Seems this would create more ph swings? Maybe starve em fairly quick if one let it go longer then a couple days?

ph swing with this type of feeding could actually be beneficial as long as the grower was watchful, yeah? Probably a little more fluctuation this way aiding in nutrient uptake?

seems you have tried both styles? you notice a healthier plant or any other benefits whether plant or uc system related?
thanks Woods and Happy New Yr.

I do top load direct to the epicenter and find that the only thing I add regularly is the Zone. I may add food but in the 13gal system the most I have ever added was 125 ml of a & b. The PPM and PH go a bit crazy but they swing back very quick in 4 to 5 min it's all over and balanced. My plants like to run at 400+ to start than at week 2 to 3 up to 600 week 5 670 and hold till last week than drop water and let ppm drop off. They don't recommend top loading but if you do it put nutrients in with ro water to lessen the impact of the add back. (I don't do that so don't want to teach anyone bad habits lol)

I don't add daily if I had to do that even every 2 days I would toss the system. I can go a week and they hold steady. The key is don't chase PPM or Ph. I set high and low and go from there.

PPM +-50 so if my target is 650 and it drops to 630 I leave it alone and wait for a bit bigger change.

Same with Ph 5.4. to 6.0 if it goes outside that I act but if they hang in there I smoke a fatty and evjoy my idle time.
